Love Rhyleigh xoxox

Dave Rafter had thought he was lucky, when, in 1986, he held his precious daughter in his arms. Rachel- that was the name he had his wife had chosen for their little girl. She had been so little, and, from that moment on, Dave knew he had been put on the earth for a reason. That reason was to protect their daughter from anything life threw at her- it didn't matter what, he and his wife Julie would support the little girl. She was his little ray of sunshine.

Dave had always been the protective father- he had two sons as well, and, while he loved them, he didn't put restrictions on their lives as he did to Rachel's. She had sighed and beared it, because she knew that, one day, she would leave her childhood home, ready to face the big bad world head on, and she would miss her parents. He had threatened to kill any boy even if they spoke a simple 'hello' to her, and he had held her tight, even at age fifteen. Rachel was a daddy's girl from the beginning, and would be to the end. She loved being the only girl- although, sometimes, she had wished that she had a younger sister to share the spotlight with.

And, at age twenty six, Rachel's dream had come true. Ruby Louise Rafter, the fourth and final child of Dave and Julie, was born- twenty two years after their third child. The moment Dave held the infant in his arms, memories of when he first held Rachel came flooding back. This little girl, the child he adored, would be treated the same way his older daughter was.

And Rachel knew it. She was a daddy's girl; Ruby was a daddy's girl. She held the little girl in her arms, as Dave took a photo, of his two precious daughters.

"My girls", he whispered, as Ruby closed her eyes.

Rachel had been his ray of sunshine, by herself, for twenty six years. Now he had two.
