Ravenclaw girl's First Day
(Samantha is telling her story)
I walk into the Great Hall. I had just gotten off the boats. I looked around, the whole place was amazing. As I got to the front the Deputy Head, Madam' Hooch called out the names, "Hanna Albe."
Hanna walked up and was placed in the house of Gryffindor. She got up and walked over to the Gryffindor Table. Then Madam' Hooch called my name, "Samantha Yaxell!"
I walked over to the sorting hat. I was so nervous. Sweat was beading down my face. All eyes were on me. I sat on the stool and the hat was placed on my head. The hat wondered and thought for a moment. Then it said, "Ravenclaw!"
I walked over to the Ravenclaw table. Everyone had finished clapping for me. I couldn't believe this was happening. Probably because I was a muggleborn. Finally the last person was sorted. She sat next to me. I say, "Hello, I'm Samantha Yaxell. You are?"
"Kori Miller. It's nice to meet you!" She said proudly. She shook my hand. Then she turned towards the Headmistress, Madam' Mcgonagall. The Headmistress stood up and started to speak.
"Hello, and welcome to another year at Hogwarts! Times ca be tough in the outside world, but hopefully they'll be mild here. For the first years, I'm Madam' Mcgonagall. May I introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Madam' Bones. Hopefully she'll stay here." Madam' Mcgonagall said. Madam' Bones stands up to applauds and sits back down. "Please be polite to all of the students and teachers. Enjoy the feast!"
A whole bunch of food appears on all five tables. From one table over, my arch enemy was glaring at me. Her name was Rosamaria, but I called her blond snake. She had straight blond hair and dark green eyes. When you looked her in her eyes it was like staring at a snake. So, Rosamaria was in Slytherin? It sure did suit her. I turn to Kori after biting into a big juicy steak. I say, "So Kori, do you like it here so far."
She giggled. Yes, it was a stupid question. She said, "Well, I just got here, but it is pretty awesome. Why do you ask?"
"Just trying to make conversation, I guess. I can't wait until tomorrow, when classes start. The first day of term!"
