The Life and Times of the Jaganshi Family
Prologue: Where is everyone?
It was a normal Saturday in this pathetic excuse for a city, normal being incredibly boring! How did these ningens live in this environment? I thought as I sat on top of the tallest building in Tokyo, my feet dangling off the edge. It's polluted and corrupt, not to mention loud. I'm not one to complain, seeing as I've been a lot worse off, but this is ridiculous! The detective is no where to be found, Kurama is with his mother, Yukina and the old woman are gathering herbs, the triplets were training with their mother and even that oaf is MIA! What the hell?! When I don't want them around they always find me some how and bug me to death, but when I want them around, there nowhere to be found?!?
How unfair is that? I've dished out my fair share of bad karma in my day but what did I ever do that I haven't made up for yet? Why was I being punished now? Haven't I worked off my dept yet?
Great now I'm talking to myself, what a good sign…
"Where the Hell is everyone?" I yelled to no one. Oh ya I was loosing my mind. I heard a twig snap and whipped around. It was my eldest son… Why was he here? Not that I wasn't glad for some kind of contact.
"Aiden? Why aren't you with your mother training? No way did convince her to let you go? What about your brother and sister?" he looked at me with that blank look on his face that even surpassed my own.
"You could say I "slipped out the back" but we both know my escape was loud and provided a lot of cover… so what are you doing out here in the middle of the city father…" he said more than asked, his voice is way to deep and emotionless for the seven year old that he is… It comes from the life we've lived… he was even more devoid of emotion than me...
"Nothing Aiden, just…" I couldn't say it, it was pathetic, but he knew what I was thinking so I didn't have to.
"Bored… me too… Surprisingly, I wish I was back at MIT getting another unnecessary degree just so I could be doing something…" Aiden said quietly sitting down on the ledge with me. They call him my clone, we do look and act a lot alike I suppose, and it's just more obvious how alike we are at different times.
"So got any ideas father…?" he finally asked after we sat in silence for more than five minutes. Suddenly a thought came to me… in the shape of a bright red Ford Mustang…
"How do you feel about grand theft auto?" I asked him with a mischievous smirk. He caught my meaning and mirrored my look.
"Sounds… fun." He said in a slightly different tone then normal. I stood up and he followed suit.
"I thought you'd think so." I said, and we jumped.
