A warm heartfelt smile, a soft loving embrace

Is that too much to plead for a failure of the race?

For throughout our competition, he's always leading

Destined, they cry, scolding me for my believing

A dull ache penetrating my heart, the pain of truth

All the courage in the world can never again soothe

No matter how hard I try, I'll never completely understand

Why you're suddenly at his side, walking hand in hand

Kari, I want the best future for you, sincerely

Even if I'm only your friend, looking on merely

Takeru's your destined, I'll willingly take my place aside

Forever and on, you're in my heart... even if my spot in yours was denied.

Awful, eh?

I've been feeling kind of out of it lately. That's when I write angst. It's probably why I haven't been working on the Secret that much ^.^;; I do want it to end happily, though not too happily that it sounds forced o.O Please give me your honest opinion on this poem!
