A/N: This short lil' one-shot is dedicated to my niece Hannah. She's helped me remember how carefree and fun it was/is to be a kid. And how much fun bubble-blowing can be.
Hermione smiled as she lifted the wand in front of her face. She never imagined that this was how she was going to be spending her summer vacation. She was supposed to be celebrating with Harry and Ron in the wizarding world, not sitting on the front porch of her house babysitting her 6 year old cousin Anna. She took a careful breath and blew a stream of bubbles through the plastic bubble wand.
"Whoa, that's like a million bubbles!" Anna exclaimed dancing in the cloud of bubbles Hermione had created.
Hermione smiled. "It's not a million," she started, but thought better of it, the child didn't need a math lesson right now, "But it's close." She carefully dipped the wand back into the small pot and blew more bubbles in the young girl's direction. Looking past the happy child Hermione watched the sun as it made it's slow decent past the horizon. She felt at peace. This little girl didn't know it, but her favorite cousin Hermione had helped make sure that the world, wizard and muggle alike, would be a safe place for her to grow up in.
"Hermione! Blow some more bubbles! Pwease?" Anna asked breaking Hermione from her reverie. Hermione smiled softly at her small cousin and blew another set of bubbles at her. No, this wasn't what she had planned for her summer vacation, but it was where she wanted to be.
