OK! My first fanfic so please review and if you're gonna flame, do it with some good advice so I can improve on it for next time. ON TO THE STORY!

He could feel his heartbeat slow as he saw the familiar red liquid leaking onto the floor out of his chest and then it all went black…

A small boy whose name was Naruto found himself in a sewer. Looking around, he saw nothing but 3 walls and one huge cage.

'Come closer little one…' said a voice that rang out from seemingly nowhere

Instinctively, he walked towards the cage, as his face was almost touching the cage, 3 claws shot out of the darkness. Naruto jumped back in surprise. The claws faded back into the darkness of the cage and a small boy with red hair and a fox on his shoulder walked to the front of the cage.

'w-was that you?' Naruto asked nervously

'Me? Nope it was him' the small boy said pointing at the fox on his shoulder

'My apologies little one', the fox started, 'but as you can see me and this guy here are the only ones here and we've been stuck here by ourselves for 8 years now so he was terribly bored and when you walked in, the opportunity was just too good to miss'

Naruto sweatdropped 'and here I was thinking that you were going to threaten to eat me…' he laughed and then continued 'so where are we?'

'In your mindscape'

'Oh ok…WHAT?' Naruto yelled 'wait… what's a mindscape'

'Your subconscious '

'What's that?'

'It's in your head'

'What's a head?'

'…'

'…'

'IT'S THIS, YOU STUPID BOY!' the fox yelled as he threw a rock at Naruto's head but it went right through his head, soon his whole body was transparent.

'What's happening?' the small boy asked 'He's waking up' 'oh... ok then. Bye bye!' the small boy waved to Naruto as Naruto's body faded'

'WAIT!' Naruto yelled 'who are you people?'

'Me? I'm a kyuubi and this boy here is…'

Kyuubi was cut off as Naruto woke up next to a campfire '...Well it's about time you woke up'
A man with black pants and a plain robe with a design of Jashin's sign on the back looked at him casually 'you were almost dead when I found you, there were a few people around you but they were sacrificed to Jashin-sama, they weren't your friends were they?'

'No… I don't think so.' Naruto responded 'Who are you anyway?'

'I'm Hidan, servant of Jashin-sama. '

'Who's Jashin?' Naruto asked

'You don't know much do you…' Hidan said 'Jashin-sama is my god, he has given me immortality and in exchange, I sacrifice people for him'

'Can I be immort- whatever it is... can i?' Naruto asked

'Hmm… Jashin-sama must've seen something in this boy… for him to specifically order me to keep him alive…' 'We'll see…' Hidan muttered 'Hey kid, what's your name?'

'Naruto… Uzumaki Naruto'
