Violet frantically ducked into the abandoned construction site, hiding from her nightmare.

I'll seek you out,

Slay you alive

One more word and you won't survive

And I'm not scared of your stolen power

I see right through you any hour

She ducked under a table which had rd paint cans, waiting for the footsteps to pass.

She shivered, feeling a chill down her spine.

I won't soothe your pain

I won't ease your strain

You'll be waiting in vain

I got nothing for you to gain

Violet felt something brush her foot and jumped, banging her head on the underside of the table.

It didn't make much noise, but now her head was throbbing. She was sure she'd get a big lump the next day.

I'm taking it slow

Feeding my flame

Shuffling the cards of your game

And just in time

In the right place

Suddenly I will play my ace

And also, a paint can fell off the table and exploded on the ground, sending paint everywhere. It splattered Violet.

Eyes on fire

Your spine is ablaze

Felling any foe with my gaze

The footsteps were coming back.

Violet ran for it, dodging tools and equipment.

Steadily emerging with grace

She heard her attacker falling over in the paint.
