It was a bright and sunny day. A young girl, named Penny and her mom, whose name I have not come to known, lived out in the country. The two had worked for a TV company in Hollywood. Their show was an action show, which was called, Bolt. Bolt a white German shepherd mix, was the star of the show. A dog with super powers, or well, at least in his mind. Now, was different the dog has been across the country, literally! After this he learned a life lesson. He befriended a cat and a hamster. Now, he was back with Penny.
What's awesome is that she adopted the two others as her own. They quit the show business after the jerk of a producer, made a terrible mistake. So, Penny and her mom, as well as all three of their pets, left the big life. They moved to the country side. They even created a small farm to cope with the country life. The three pets all loved their new lives. Oh wait, the two others? Oh yes, there was Mittens the cat and Rhino the hamster. All three slept in the same room, which was Penny's room.
Bolt had on side of the bed and Mittens had the other. Rhino usually spelt in his ball. They'd wake up eat breakfast, do something, wait for Penny to get home from school. You know just about the daily schedule of an average pet. That's how it was almost every day. Of course you had the days where Penny was sick and stayed home, but today she did go to school. So, that's really how it was, just the daily schedule… but… today was a very, and I mean very unusual day. Well, this, this my friends, is where this very story begins…
It was an early morning. Penny was sleeping in her room in the second floor of the house. Bolt was at her feet, Mittens on the other side of the bed. Why did she have a two person bed? Well, I guess to make room for her pets? Well, that was my guess. Not too far away was Rhino, who was sleeping in his ball. Every once in a while he'll fall asleep on one side of the room and wake up on the other. Penny's alarm clock was set on her dresser, which every week-day it would ring at around five-thirty am.
This was so she could feed the three of them and eat breakfast before the school bus came. She'd feed them a different variety of food. Like, kibble, gravy-making food for Bolt. Then finally grass sticks and other foods and treats for Rhino. Then, she would get some breakfast for her. Finally, then get her things and head to the bus stop to go to school. Penny's mom would go to work about an hour after Penny leaves. This gives her time to get her breakfast and pick up the empty bowls of food.
The three pets slept soundly. Well… that was the situation, until Penny's alarm clock started to ring. The ringing woke not only her up, but all three pets. Bolt was the first to do so.
"Oh…" He groaned. "J- Just a couple more minutes."
"You're not the only one…" Mittens yawned, then stretched.
Penny flipped her covers off. She excitedly jumped out of bed.
"Come on guys, time to eat!" She said running down the stairs. Bolt jumped off the bed, Rhino rolling along. Mittens had stretched one more time before coming down. They all ran into the kitchen, where Penny was pouring food into different bowls. Bolt, and Rhino had made it to their bowls. Mittens was a little behind. Penny passed her up heading back up the stairs.
"That cat tiredness again, Mitts?" Penny asked playfully.
Mittens nodded her head and mumbled, 'yes'. Of course all Penny heard was a practically silent meow. Almost all cats were like this when they wake up, all groggy and stuff. Just give her time she'll be about as active as Bolt. She finally made it to her bowl, just as the other two has nearly finished. Bolt finished, his bowl of food.
"Hey, Bolt want to see what's on the magic box?"
Bolt sighed and thought. He decided,
"Nah, I'll come over later."
Rhino chuckled and started to roll to the couch.
"Your loss, buddy." He joked before going around the couch. When he arrives to the couch, he hops out of the ball and climbs it.
Bolt giggled to himself. Then turned to Mittens. She was still eating slowly. Bolt's face turned from funny to serious. He lowered to her ear.
"Mittens, are you okay?" He asked with a worried tone.
Mittens chuckled and lifted her head from the bowl.
"Bolt, I'm fine seriously, it's just… You know… a cat thing."
"Ok, It' just-.."He was cut off.
"Yes, I know by now… you're worried. Trust me, I'm not sick, I'm not depressed, I'm just…" Just then a conveniently timed yawn took place. "…Tired."
"Ok." Bolt nodded. Mittens continued to eat. Bolt took a step for the couch.
"You can join me and Rhino if you want, when you're done."
Mittens mumbled yes from her bowl. Then chewed the rest of the bite she had in her mouth. Bolt walked off and jumped on the couch. Mittens chuckled to herself.
"That Bolt… just so worry-full…." She paused with a troubled look on her face. "…. W-why is that?" She shrugged her shoulders and finally swallowed her last bite, just as Penny's mom came by, with her purse in hand.
"You guys all done?" She asked.
"Of course," Mittens answered, yet, all Penny's mom heard was a meow.
"Alright, I'll get those for you." She said picking up the bowls and putting them into a cabinet. Mittens started towards the living room. Penny's mom walked by, then opened the door.
"Ok, I'm going out, I'll be back soon!" She cheered.
Mittens by now was at the foot of the couch.
"Mittens, come on up!" Bolt exclaimed.
