Halo: Squad 156
Chapter one: Rememberance
Death, that's what Private Ben Roberts had in his mind. Ben was sitting in his squad's tank right now heading out for war-again. It had only been 1 month since the accident. He and his old squad, squad 398, had been assigned to help Master Chief in the autumn. He still remembers the last part of the tragedy. The squad had fought in a battle that lasted for ten minutes, before getting in a warthog. Cortana had sent them a message saying the autumn was about to explode. Master Chief had been missing at the time so they had to find him and then get out. They only had 3 minutes before it exploded, they drove fast but aware of what was around them. Suddenly a swarm of Covenant was flying behind them.
Sergeant: Roberts get on that gun and shoot them down.
Ben jumped next to the gun and started to fire at the creatures. The warthog had begun to drive on a bridge, allowing them to see Master Chief .Three covenants had snuck by Ben and they attacked at the driver. Mack, the driver, got hit by the creatures and fell off the warthog. Ben and the others, except the sergeant, looked back quickly to see Mack die. The warthog hit the rail of the bridge, breaking it. Ben had jumped off in time, landing on the ground. The warthog flew right over him crashing in front of Master Chief's warthog. Master Chief stopped his warthog in time. Ben ran over to his squad.
Ben: everyone alright?!?
Ben only saw the sergeant and another private…alive. He looked over to his left and saw the medic dead.
Master Chief: Hey get in!
The sergeant and the other private got in. Ben had no place to get in. There was a big boom and fire started coming for them. The sergeant stepped on the gas leaving Ben behind. Ben ran after them with the fire trailing his way. Ben finally caught up and jumped onto the back of the warthog. Suddenly a grunt walked out on the road. Master Chief tried moving out of the way but hit the grunt on accident. When they hit the grunt causing them to flip in the air. Ben fell off, as well as Master Chief, and started skidding on the road. Master Chief had flown out of the tunnel grabbing the ladder from the rescue plane. Ben stood and ran to the crash and tried getting the sergeant out from underneath the warthog.
Sergeant: Save the girl.
Ben looked at the girl and got her out from underneath. Ben looked up to see the roaring fire in front of him.
Sergeant: RUN!
Ben and the private, the girl, ran and jumped out of the tunnel to be saved by the rescue plane.
He never forgot that day, the day that he almost died. Ben looked up to see the Girl he saved, Jessica, smile. The captain of his new squad, squad 156, stood up.
Captain: Squad! We are now entering the war zone get ready.
