THE HISTORY:
Fifteen years before the events in the story, there was a World War on remnant. The likes of which had never been seen. Vacuo, the primary instigator of the war, was hit with a massive bout of war reparations measuring in the Billions of Lien. Within three months the country declared bankruptcy, and descended into turmoil. Three distinct factions fought for control of the country. The Federal Loyalists, made of what remained of the Vacuan imperial senate, and the military. The second, the 'Legion of Fall' mysteriously appeared with alarming military might, and no declared goal. The third was the once peaceful Faunus rights turned paramilitary group The White Fang, commanded by Adam Taurus. Under his command, the group managed to obtain billions worth of military equipment and resources.
This civil war lasted for ten years, with the loyalists managing to barely hold the capitol for the majority of that time. However, in January of 2003, an alliance between the Legion and the White Fang blindsided the loyalists, resulting in their destruction six months later. The new government put in place by the mysterious leader of the Legion, Cinder Fall, then secretly commissioned the construction of four Airborne Command Cruisers capable of launching and recovering Fighter aircraft. These monstrosities, completed in three short years, were named The Boreas, The Notus, The Eurus, and The Zephyrus. Following the completion of their grand project, Vacuo promptly began to underhandedly coerce its neighbors into capitulating resources. Then the annexations began. The countries around Vacuo were absorbed over the next two years, culminating in the biggest most complicated conspiracy ever conceived.
Still bitter over the loss 15 years earlier at the hands of Vale and Atlas, the Vacuan high command devised a plan to pit the two superpowers against each other. After obtaining spots inside the higher levels of the Atlas military, Vacuan agents began to funnel Atlesian military funds into extremely top secret experimental projects designed to beef Atlas's military might. The results were the Olympus Kinetic Bombardment program, initiated to allow for Atlas's military to swiftly and decisively strike strategic locations without a high cost to the environment; and the Next Generation Multirole Fighter Project or NGMFP.
