Shannon lately has been finding it hard to believe that the beast was her friend. She's confused and thinks it's a joke. Then she knows that it's true and she suddenly believes that the…well, that's another story!
Chapter 1
Shannon carried her heavy backpack on her shoulders wondering what lesson she would be doing first. Maybe maths, or perhaps literacy or maybe science! She'd have to find out! When she arrived in the school playground she smiled. Tom, Maddy and Rhydian were already there to meet her!
She jogged up to them, smiling at them. How she loved her friends. How they made her laugh and smile! How they comforted her when she was sad or upset. They looked like a strange group, but there personalities linked them up together like a jigsaw. Shannon soon reached them! But sat on the wall straight away! She was exhausted, tired and happy at the same time!
"You all right?" Maddy laughed, Shannon looked up to see Maddy laughing away. Shannon took a deep breath. She was used to Maddy asking her everything so quickly. "I'm fine! How are you?" Shannon asked, laughing herself of how tired she felt! "Ok! But I don't think your fine!" Tom said. Shannon stood up. She smiled at Tom. "I told you! I'm fine, a bit tired, that's all!" Shannon answered. "Well, there's a lot to talk about!" Rhydian told Shannon, "Be ready to yawn!" Everyone laughed.
Maddy stopped laughing and looked at Rhydian. He nodded. "Shan, Tom there's something I need to tell you." She began, she sounded serious. "You know what you call 'The Beast'?" Maddy asked. "Well, yes Maddy, but I thought we agreed to not say anything about it!" Shannon told her, a bit confused about what Maddy was saying. "I'm it! Me and Rhydian! We're sorry! We should have told you…" Maddy whispered. Shannon stepped back. "This is a joke! You are so funny!" Shannon said, sternly. Maddy sighed. "No Shan! This is serious!" She burst.
Shannon stormed off. "Shan!" Maddy shouted as loud as she could. But Shannon didn't stop. How can the Beast of Stonybridge be my friends? She thought.
