It was a couple of day before thanksgiving. Kimmy was just out of the Hospital& had a follow-up at the clinic. Melman did a chest x-ray to make sure the breathing tube didn't rupture her lungs during the extubation. He also did another exam & gave her a sucker.
Gia & the boys went to Hy-vee grocery store to get dinner for thanksgiving. Gia's Mom is coming all the was across the reservation for to have thanksgiving with them. What would you boy like for desert? Gia asks. The boys responded together. Pumpkin Pie! Gia laughed. All right then. Alex went into the store with Kimmy & meet up with Gia. Hi Honey how did everything go? asks Gia. Everything went great. Melman said that she was in clean health. He also said that some how that she caught something at school that made her very ill. It's that time of the year again. Gia responded. I know flu season. Melman had to give her a another shot. So how is the shopping going? Great. The boys are getting the ingredients to make the pumpkin pie. Simba came back with cool whip. Mom can we put this on the pie? Sure why not. just put it in the cart. Alex's pager went off. Alex looked at it. It's Melman Honey I need to go to the Hospital. Okay bye. Bye kids see you later. Nitro got the canned pumpkin & put it in the cart. After the shop, They went home.
That night, The kids were working on the pie dough. Alex came home from the Hospital. Hi Honey how was things? Alex responded, Oh Man the Emergancy room was very busy. Gut shot wounds, Head injuries, Gia corrected him. Not in front of the kids. Sorry. Alex went up to the kids. What are two kids doing. Nitro responded. Were prepping the pie dough for tomorrow. Gia sprayed the pie plate & pat the dough in the plate. Simba press the fork on the edges. They put it on the refrigerator.
The next morning, Gia put the turkey in the oven that cooks for 4 hours. Simba asks, Mom? Why does the turkey take so long to cook? Gia responded, Turkeys are big birds & with all the meat, they take longer then the chicken. The kids turned on the parade. Alex went downstairs. Happy thanksgiving everybody. Alex turn to Gia. So when is your Mom coming? Gia responded. She should be here at 12:30pm. The phone rang. it was Palma. She was already on the road on her way. Gia also invited Sarah & her cub Katie. It was noon & Palma pulled up. Alex look out the window. Honey? your Mom's here. The kids ran downstairs. Grandma. Palma came in & hugged the cubs & hugged Gia. Hi Mom. Palma made a bean casserole. Sarah showed up with her cub. Everybody sat down to have dinner. Nitro remembered. Oh No! He turned to Gia. Mom? We forgot to make the pumpkin pie. Sarah took a pie out. No problem because I made one just in case. Alex was showing a sign of relief & got out the whip cream.
After dinner, Everybody had to go home. & Gia & Alex cleaned up. The end.
