A/N:
Hey guys! I haven't posted in a while and I felt like doing some Harry Potter writing, so here we go! Weee! This is only a Prologue, and it is set in the future. The story will be about the 7th year and the summer before it for the Maruaders and co! xo
"Here, Peter? Of all places, you chose to come here?" Sirius' voice teetered on the edge of anger, his rage shaken by the throbbing pain in his chest area.
Peter glanced back at the cottage behind him, trembling with apprehension, as Sirius overcame any restraint he had been holding. Drawing his wand, he pointed it at the smaller boy threateningly, as his old friend drew his own.
"Has it really come to this, Sirius? We were friends, were we not?" He had stopped shaking, as if for once, his Gryffindor courage was ringing through. The irony cut through the air to Sirius.
"Friends!" The grey-eyed boy hissed. "What kind of friend gives up a couple like the Potters to Voldemort? The Potters!" he repeated, as if the unthinkable was even more so because of it.
Pettigrew did not answer Sirius' question, although he had not been expecting a response. "She's a pretty one, isn't she? The muggle," he sneered.
"Leave her out of it, Pettigrew," Sirius snapped, raising his wand a little higher as people in the street began to stare at the pair curiously. A light turned on in the cottage, before the door swung open and a woman's silhouette appeared in the entrance.
Sirius lost his focus for a moment as the woman walked closer towards the gate, and before he knew it, he was staring at her confused figure on the pathway. Her brows furrowed together, focusing on the wand, before Sirius whispered to her, "Get back inside." Her large brown doe-eyes widened at his voice, realising the gravity of his words as she began to retreat – but it was too late. She had stolen his focus for too long, and the words were bellowing out of Peter's mouth before he had even realised the glow emitting from the traitor's wand.
"How could you betray the Potter's, Sirius? They were your friends!"
As Peter's wand exploded, Sirius realised she would not make it back inside in time. With a flick of his wand, the shield he had created around himself began to make its way towards her, but the explosion outran it and had soon engulfed the street. Sirius knew there must have been others caught in the crossfire, but all he saw was the green eyed brunette lying on her driveway, with three large, stubby fingers scattered beside her.
