A.N: Hey guys, this is my first fanfiction, so constructive criticism and reviews are greatly appreciated. Also, English is not my first language so I apologize if there's any mistakes. The first chapter is kinda short, but it sets the story. Enjoy !

« Well, that should be interesting. » Amy thought, watching the landscape from the car window.

She remembered those trees, houses and parks she used to play in. Memories of her childhood were flooding in her brain, the good and the bad ones.

She remembered her old soccer team, and how she, the captain, scored the winning goal in the game that made them champions. She thought about her old school and friends with nostalgia. She remembered how close she was to her mom after the divorce : her dad ran away with his lover when she was eight.

The memory of him patting her on the head, promising to come visit often was still fresh in her mind. He never did. That hurt her unbelievably. After that, Amy matured a lot, taking care of her mom and making sure she would never get hurt like that again.

Maybe that's why she never had a serious relationship. Amy wasn't interested in commitment. She only had small flings, or one night stands. No strings attached. With her long blonde curls, her intense green eyes and her fit body, sculpted by hours of sports, Amy Raudenfeld was gorgeous. Charming girls was never a problem for her.

However girls weren't that important to her. Her mom sent her to a pricey private school in 8th grade, so she'd have a good education. Amy knew she emptied her bank account for this opportunity, so she was very focused on her academics, and her soccer team. As a result, she was the top student of her year, and brought her team to victory three years in a row. As the school wasn't in Texas though, she had to live at her aunt's place, and never got to see the proud look on her mom's face everytime she heard about her accomplishments.

Unfortunately or not, her poor aunt died from a stroke 3 month ago, so she was now on her way back home, where she would finish high school. She was really anxious about going home. People change, and Amy hated change.

The car suddenly stopped, bringing her back to reality. Amy shook her head, clearing her head. She payed the driver and got out of the cab, a small smile on her face as she looked, for the first time in 3 years, at her childhood home.

It was good to be back.

All of a sudden, Amy felt two thin arms wrapping themselves around her waist, squeezing her strongly.

« Ughhh Lauren.. Can you please release me ? I'm dying here. » she whispered breathlessly.

« Shut up, you dumb-dumb, I missed you. » Lauren said, smiling at her.

Amy's gaze softned, looking at her childhood friend with affection. She really missed her too. They used to be together all the time, them and their friend Shane. Lauren took it really hard when Amy had to leave.

« I missed you too princess. »

They both smiled at eachother. Lauren used to call Amy dumb-dumb or dummy, and she in return called her princess or your highness. It felt good to see that this hadn't changed.

Lauren took Amy's hand, leading her towards the front door.

« Come on, your mom is waiting for you. »

Amy took a deep breath and opened the door, nerves disappearing completely when she was engulfed in her mother's hug.

« Oh baby ! I missed you so much ! »

Amy smiled in her mothers arms, living here again would be hard, but she'll manage.
