Disclaimer: Don't own Jarod, Craig and Steve do. Don't own The Pretender, NBC, TNT or any other network. What I do own is a good imagination! So, I hope nobody minds if I just borrow Jarod for a few minutes. I promise to return him in the condition I found him (or a close approximation thereof.)
Jarod's Quest
You wear your sorrows about your shoulders,
As a dark and heavy cape.
Your sweet brown eyes,
Reflect the sadness in your heart.
Your gentle spirit weighted by deaths,
Which were not of your doing.
Eyes that have seen such evil and cruelty,
From the keepers and your guards.
Though they have stripped your soul bare,
And laid it upon the dank cold dungeon floor,
Though you suffer the loss of your innocence,
You have bound up your wounds to go on.
Though you have escaped the place of torture,
Your heart is tortured still.
For though you run the wild world over,
With the huntress at your heels,
You cannot escape your memories,
Nor the nightmares in the dark.
While on a noble quest for the missing pieces of your past.
You seek the Secrets of the castle's Tower.
Like an errant knight you help others,
Rescuing those in need from dragons of every form,
Though with no Refuge of your own.
