"Got any fives?" he asks.
"Nope, go fish," responds the other. "Got any twos?"
"Hey, I asked you if you had twos a couple rounds ago!" Sora huffs, glaring at the male in front of him. The two sit on the floor with cards as their amusement, the electricity having gone out not long after starting a movie. "Are you cheating?" He leans forward on his hands and stares directly into green eyes. Green eyes taunting and laughing at him, he grouses inwardly.
"Of course not," replies the older male as he drops his cards face-down on the carpet so that Sora can't take a quick peek. The glance wouldn't help anyway; the younger would forget the cards he had and suffer while his partner continued lying. "Why would I need to cheat? I can beat you with my eyes closed."
Sora continues to glare, though now he has resumed his seat with a pout. "Axel…" he starts with a short snort. "You're…" Thinking of a good insult is hard and he can barely think of anything that the red-haired object of his frustration can't beat with his own jeer. "You're a hedgehog! A red one!"
Axel has a low tolerance for animals, especially dogs. Sora's mutt Pluto, with his odd black furred ears and tail, tackles him on a regular basis. Every time he does Axel jokes about Pluto wanting to mate, and every time Sora scolds him. The joke has been repeated too many times for Sora to enjoy it.
And Axel knows for a fact that hedgehogs do not come in the same color as his hair.
So he narrows his eyes at this smug-looking boy sitting in front of him, cards in his hands, looking like he has just won the game, when Axel smirks.
"Got any twos?" he asks again.
Sora immediately demands that they play a different game.
