Stargate Atlantis

The Woman In You

Summary:While going over a machine on another planet that the ancients supposedly built, Rodney is turned into a woman!

Chapter 1: Man, I feel like a woman!

"Tell me again. Why is it that we couldn't just take this back to Atlantis to study?" John, immensely bored and playing with a stick, asked Rodney-who was currently on his side trying to see if there were any crystals or anything on the machine that they had found. Rodney had informed him that it was most likely built by the ancients, but he had no idea what it did yet. Which was why the two were in the cave, with Rodney going over the machine. Telya and Ford were both outside, keeping an eye out for wraiths or anything else unexpected. And John was heartily wishing that he had gone with him. He stood up and headed towards the door, thinking that he would check on the two other members of his team.

"And yet again, I answer you." Rodney muttered under his breath. John frowned, turning. Rodney quickly continued, "For one, Major, it's too heavy for all of us-and probably the Jumper too-to carry. Do you know how much this thing weighs? And for another, it would take at least three trips with the Jumper to this planet and back to Atlantis. Carrying people who would help us get this machine onto the Jumper, and not to mention it would barely hold the pilot and the machine up without causing some sort of trouble." Rodney got to his knees. John looked more bored than ever, and turned to the door. He clicked on his radio, and said,

"This is Major Sheppard. How's it going out there, you two?"

"Ford here, sir. It's going…well…slow." Ford's voice came in through the cave. John grinned at his tone.

"Slow is good. At least there's no wraith on our doorstep, right, lieutenant?" John asked.

"Right, sir." Ford said. Rodney suddenly spotted a yellow button on the side of the machine. Frowning, wondering what it did, he hesitated in pressing it. He glanced over at John, but he was still busy talking with Ford and Telya about the planet and the ancients. Rodney reached out his hand and touched it with his finger.

The next thing he knew, was that something was wrong. His clothes didn't fit right, and he felt strange in his body. He wondered what had happened. John turned around and saw him. For a minute, he simply gazed at Rodney, not believing his eyes, and then he slowly asked,

"Rodney…is that you?" Rodney frowned at his tone.

"Yea. Why wouldn't it be?" His voice sounded strange, even to his own ears.

"The fact that you're…never mind, you would never believe me anyway." He clicked his radio on again. "Ford!"

"Sir? Something come up?" Ford's voice came in again.

"You could say that." John stated, still staring at Rodney. Rodney wasn't liking his staring, and was starting to get nervous. "Could you go to the gate and call Dr. Weir and ask her if Zelenka and Becket can't possibly come over here?"

"What'd Rodney do this time?" Ford asked, a touch of humor in his voice.

"Something that he will soon regret. Very soon, I think. Sheppard out." John said. Rodney couldn't help noticing that John looked very cute with black hair. Wait, did he just think…gross!

"Rodney…do you have a mirror?" John asked.

"Have I ever carried a mirror with me, Sheppard?" He sounded close to crying. Funny, he wondered why.

"No, no...of course not." He turned, and heard John mutter to himself. "The ancients built a machine…that could change genders?!"

It wasn't until Dr. Becket and Zelenka came in half an hour later that it finally clicked. Rodney had turned into a woman!

This is the first chapter. Chapter two shall be up and running soon. See ya later, SciFi fans!
