Summary: Max's daughter watches her mother. AN: This idea popped up in my brain when I was out riding my horse. I had it stuck in my head so I had to write something. Anyway, leave a review.

She sits there again, on the roof like a dark silhouette against the sunset. I can watch her perfectly without being noticed from here. She sits like she always does, her arms around her knees, hugging herself. She comes here a lot. She says she comes to remember. I know whom she wants to remember. Him. Hell, she set a child to this world just to remember him.
I am that child. My name is Alexine, also known as Alex. It's a combination between Max and Alec just like everything else I am. I'm what they call a X10 and my designation is 946. X5 452 and X5 494 are X10 946. Mathematic, trannie style.
Yes, I do have a barcode. I know some of the women cried when they understood that our barcodes appear a week after we are born. We aren't free, we will never be.
We are the second generation. Born outside Manticore and we are fighters but not soldiers. If it's something we have, it's stories. Stories, legends and tales. About Manticore, the hellhole where our parents were made and raised. We have stories about the famous unit who escaped, the 09'ers. Tales about White and his Familiar, about the great war against them. But most of them are about Max, the Chosen and Alec who died for her. They happen to be my parents.
Hell, I'm a legend myself, as the perfect fucking combination.
Max kept me as a memory of her lost love. She didn't even know she was pregnant when he died in her arms. Max, my mother isn't the motherly type. All she saw was a little bit of Alec, growing inside her stomach. I'm the shadow of a ghost, a reminder of what she lost.
I know I'm beautiful, we all are. I have my mum's dark hair and my dad's eyes, I've been told. She is beautiful too, sitting near the edge of the building. She could pass as my sister cause transgenics doesn't age.
My mother was never hugs and kisses, but she taught me things about life. Harsh but honest. My kind and me can never be human. We are part animal and part soldier and if we don't know how to control our self, we are dangerous. I go into heat and all that shit. But I can consider myself lucky, I had Susie, Gem and Max to help me. Gem tried to talk me through it but Max was more radical. She handcuffed me to the bed, locked the door and had Susie to guard it.
I have a lot to thank Gem for. She knew Max and what she had been through. She took care of me, hugged and kissed me when Max didn't. Max trained me, taught me to fight. Susie is Gem's daughter and the first child of Freak Nation. She is two years older than me and treats me like her baby sister.
I look out over Terminal City. The war is over and we are free to leave if we want too. But most of us stay. The humans never accepted us, I don't know if they ever will. We belong here, with our own kind.
Max is still our leader and everyone admires and respects her. She is spending a lot of time on that roof. Some think she is going insane, she is isolating herself, not letting anybody come close anymore. I can understand that, she has lost so many, she can't risk it again. But a part of me wishes she would turn her head around and look at me. See me for what I am and not for what he was.
