Rumpelstiltskin is one of my favorite little fairy tales. I've always thought of Rumpelstiltskin as a devious, cunning, and sarcastic little troll/elf/whatever he is. So this takes up his point of view and what he might have been thinking during this whole process. Enjoy and review!
Straw for Gold
Crying brought me to this room,
Filled with straw, a wheel, a broom.
On the straw sat a lady fair,
Face covered with tears and hair.
"Ah! Spin straw into gold I see!
For a price, leave it all to me."
Slowly the straw disappeared,
As gold slowly appeared.
There was a clink and I was done,
With her ring I was gone.
At night I once again heard,
Her crying is simply absurd!
In a bigger room I did come,
Poor lady never knowing where I'm from.
With earrings in my pocket I did spin,
Left before the King walked in.
Third I came and saw what could be mine,
T'was a dark, delicate, dashing dress so fine.
Going to marry your imprisoner, what a prize,
The one who placed you with the mice.
Yet perfect jewels not hers to give,
I'm not one filled with greed.
Instead first born baby I demand,
Made the deal and shook her hand.
