Lacy here once again proving I can't listen to music. Well, Katie and I can't. We, at two different times in the day, listened to the same song and came out with the same pairing. And since they're my pairing, I get to write the story. So, it's Richard Marx's Right Here Waiting and for those who've heard the song, you know it's not happy and cheery but I'm going to do my best to make it less depressing! The second half anyway. Can't say anything without revealing much so have fun!
Disclaimer: I don't own the song or the show. Depressed now.

He stood alone on the tarmac long after the plane's lights had faded from sight. Long after the sound of JJ's car had drifted away. He knew he had to get home to Jack, had to explain that, for now, another woman in his life was gone. He wouldn't put it that way, he'd say she was chasing bad guys. He couldn't break his son's heart. Not again.
Eyes still searching the stars, he let out a long sigh. It was going to be hard, the upcoming months, not knowing where she was, what she was doing, how she was doing. He couldn't stand the thought of her out there without him. But he'd made her a promise. He would take care of Jack, take care of their family and be right there, in that spot, waiting when she came home. And it was one promise he had no plans on breaking.
Aaron Hotchner turned back to his car, his fingers playing with the rings that belonged to Emily Prentiss Hotchner. He would hold on to them, never let them leave his sight until he could put them back where they belonged.

Emily stood in the bullpen, staring at the round table room where she could see her family gathered. All but one.
"It'll be okay,"
Emily glanced at Aaron over her shoulder. "I don't know how it can be. They may never forgive me."
Aaron rubbed her back. "You're home. That's what they'll focus on. I'll take the blame, let them come at me and they'll focus you being home on you." he slid his hand into his pocket. "I think these are yours,"
Emily smiled as Aaron slid her rings back on her finger. "Together?"
Aaron nodded. "Together,"

Short, kinda pointless but mostly fits with the song and totally works how I wanted it to! I know it woulda been longer and probably better if I threw the team in but it was meant to focus on just Aaron and Emily. So let me know what you think, flame policy stands and thanks for reading.
