It was a day just as normal as any other. It was a sunny, cloudless morning in the delivery room of the ruler of the province of Geluriana. The queen was in labor, due to give birth to her second child. The first, eleven year old Ayden, stood outside the room, beside his massive father William, awaiting the news of the new part of the Dalon family line.
The child could hear many screams from the room, and held onto his father's hand for support, fearful for his mother. William gave a very soft squeeze to him as one final scream of the mother was uttered before the cries of the new child were heard. A maid walked out and opened the door, allowing Ayden and William into the room. Her face was fearful as she bowed her head to the king and prince.
"My dearest Elynn," spoke the king in his booming voice. "Allow me the pleasure of seeing our child. What is it, another young prince, or will it be a beautiful princess?" he asked, gently dropping his grip of Ayden as he pushed some hair out of the woman's sweaty face.
The woman's face slowly looked up at the king fearfully as the nurse handed him the baby that moved in his arms slightly. "It's a b..boy, sire" the woman said, looking down, away from the baby boy.
Elynn gently pulled part of the blanket around him away, revealing a small 'A' shaped mark on his hip. "William, it's the mark of Alexander. This boy will be the end of us. We must kill him," the queen said fearfully, though her look at the baby was one of utter disgust.
"NO!" shouted the young blonde prince as he took hold of his younger brother. "Mother, father, you cannot kill him! This is your son, and he's my younger brother, I'll protect him no matter what!" Ayden's blue eyes shone, glaring angrily at his parents. "How could you do that to your son?" he asked, moving away with his brother. "Don't you dare."
"Ayden, please, be reasonable," William said, walking towards his son. "Do you know what that marking on him means? He will kill all of us, he will be stronger than any in the family; that is the marking of the darkness of the Dalon line, it is Alexander. He will murder every person; we must kill him before he kills us!"
"Father, you could be over reacting, you do not know about him! He is only a baby, you cannot kill him!"
"Though he will be the one to kill us? It's kill or be killed, Ayden, please, be smart about this!" begged the prince's mother, one of her hands tightly grasping William's. "Please, son, this is for your own good, as well as ours."
William and Elynn gave a heavy sigh as they stared at their beloved son, holding the child that would one day be their end in his arms. "Fine," the deep voice of the king finally boomed, "We won't kill the boy, but, he will not be allowed to leave this palace, or go anywhere in view of the subjects or visitors. His birth is to be declared still-born to the subjects. No one outside of those who live in this palace will know of him." This was his final decree, and all of the servants and maids in the room nodded, responding with a "Yes sire" before they left the room.
"Father, mother, he needs a name," young Prince Ayden pointed out to his parents, both of whom were disgusted with their new son.
"You may choose, dear Ayden. You may choose your own brother's name." the boy's mother said to him.
A smile crept onto the boy's face, "My brother's name is Jordan. Jordan Alexander Dalon." He smiled to himself, realizing that he was going to anger his parents for including 'Alexander' in his brother's name. "Jordan." He smiled again, handing the baby off to a maid. "I'll protect you baby brother. I promise."
