'Ah, so this is what it's like to relax,' Sena thought lounging on his couch. He had just finished his ten mile dash around his neighborhood not wanting his skills to get rusty. After a few minutes, he grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. A commercial appeared on screen.
A chubby man in a navy blue suit and small spectacles waved his hands watching as a big golden poster titled Dream Team appeared.
"All you football players out there!" he started in a surprisingly manly voice.
"Are you looking for a good way to hone your skills? Are you looking for a rival to match your own? Well, I give to you, the one and only, Mega Bowl. You see, the Generation of Football Players decided to have the best of the best challenge them. In order to do that, you must beat opponents around the world and win all of them with your team. In order to compete, you must have:
A team of at least eleven players.
A coach with a master degree
Your players must have a GPA of 3.0 in order to play.
There are no fees folks! Get our players and start playing! The starting matches will begin on June 15! Don't worry about school; we'll have your professors cram everything in! If you don't get it, there's always cram school. They'll reinforce it next year. Good Luck!"
The Flintstones appeared on the terebi, but Sena turned it off. He shivered as a chill of suspense ran down his spine. There were only two meanings of that: one, his team had a very low chance of living. Two, Hiruma and/or Agon had found something troubling for him.
The fluffy haired teen estimated two minutes until they burst through his door; by that time he'd already be gone. He never suspected anyone else wanting him in their team too. I mean who wouldn't want the famous Eyeshield 21, otherwise known as Sena Kobayakawa, the fastest high school runner in Japan on their team.
He rushed to get his backpack and filled it with four iced water bottles, two chilled, and two normal. A first aid kit, hydrogen peroxide, an extra pair of clothes, his swim trunks, snacks, a book or two, and a hooded jacket also went into the navy blue backpack. All of this was done in a minute.
Sneakers on, he ran outside and locked the door behind him. Pivoting on his foot narrowly dodging a woman and child, he came face to face with his rival, Shin.
Shin was six foot two inches tall. He had dark blue hair and a similar shade of blue eyes. He was a stoic spear who did not react well with technology, but he was okay once you got to know him.
"Konnichiwa, Shin-san," Sena greeted bowing.
"Eyeshield Sena, konnichiwa." Shin responded, staring at him. Sena stared back at him, a small smile on his face. A minute later they were still in the same position and Sena was starting to get nervous. He had fifty seconds left on the clock until the got to him and it didn't look like Shin was moving anytime soon.
"W-well, I need to go now Shin-san. I'll see you later!"
"Allow me to accompany you on your jog. Since I still have not completed my daily amount of exercise and apparently you have not either, it would not be a hassle to run together."
That's Shin for you, Sena chuckled mentally. Always have to keep the daily regimen. A robot set on training all day and night.
Thirty seconds left.
"Alright but we have to hurry. Hiruma-san and Agon-san will be here in twenty-two seconds."
