Katara's heart was beating right out of her chest. She paced her room, she was excited, but at the same time, nervous. Why was she nervous? She was going to marry her best friend today.
Aang paced his room as well, sweating from nerves and excitement. In just a few hours, the love of his life would be walking down the aisle to meet him at the altar. He couldn't wait.
Today is the day they would promise everything to each other. For better or for worse, in sickness and in health, forever and always they would be together. Aang would make an Avatar's to protect his wife until his very last breath, and even beyond if it is within his power.
Back when they were young, Aang always knew he loved Katara, and that they would be together. But katara was afraid to admit her feelings. She was afraid that if she ler her feelings out, she would fall too hard, and that she would lose him. She didn't want to go through that pain of losimg him. So she cut herself off for a while. Eventually, dhe came to her senses, and now they were more in love than ever before.
Aang took his place at tje front of the church, next to him was his best man, Sokka, and Zuko, who had become a very close friend over the years. Katara peeked through the doors and, despite all the people, she could only see Aang. All of her anxiety melted away. All that was left was pure joy.
The doors opened and Suki, the maid of honor walked to her place, followed by Toph, Katara's best friends. Everyone stood as Katara approached the door. She stepped out into the aisle and Aang thought his heart was going to burst out of his chest. He could hardly believe how beautiful she was It was like he was seeing him for the first time all over again.
"Katara..." his eyes were wide. "You're so beautiful." His bride blushed, and the pastor spoke through the service
"Do you, Aang, take Katara to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, to the very end of your days?"
"I do," Aang promised. Katara made her promise as well.
"You may now kiss the bride! " the pastor exclaimed.
Aang took Katara in his arms and whispered "You're my forever girl," befire kissing her for the very first tkme as husband and wife.
