I couldn't believe after four years of working my rear end off I finally did it, I had graduated high school and got into one of the top schools in the state. In the beginning of August I would be attending Schulmann University. I was so excited, yet so scared for what was to come.

"Bella, would you stop daydreaming and hurry up or we are going to be late," Alice yelled.

Alice Brandon was my best friend and pseudo sister. We've been friends since Mrs. Delaney's math class in eighth grade. Alice was struggling in pre-algebra and since I was one of the better students in that class, she paired us up as partners. We immediately hit it off and five years later, we are still the best of friends.

"I wasn't daydreaming and I'm coming," I told her.

Today, Alice and I were going shopping for our first year of college. This would be the first time that we have been separated since middle school. While I would be staying in state, Alice would be moving cross-country and attending Ozark University. I just hope that no matter how far we go, we would still remain the best of friends.

"That'll be fifty seven dollars and ten cents," the cashier winked at Alice.

This wasn't an unusual event when we out. We would go shopping or the movies and guys would fall all over themselves for Alice. I became accustomed to this, I knew the guys we grew up with didn't really see me as a bombshell and I guess I was okay with that. I knew that when I would get to college I would be surrounded by new guys and that maybe they would find me attractive. I just hope I'm not getting my hopes up only to be let down.

As Alice paid for her items the cashier continued to check her out. Before he gave her the receipt he wrote something down on it and slid it across the counter. I knew that what he wrote on the receipt was his number. I also knew that Alice wouldn't give him a call, so he was barking up the wrong tree. I couldn't wait until college, I sighed internally.
