'Think about him... You're smiling.' By AussieNinjaChick.
Inspired by a quote from Scrubs. =P No 'said's in this entire fic!!!!
Det. Kate Beckett groaned again as her best friend and ME Lanie Parish instructed her on what she needed to do with her writer monkey and partner Rick Castle... again.
"I do not have any feelings for Castle." She reiterated with an exasperated sigh.
"Girl, I gonna smack you." Lanie warned her like she had in the morgue. Kate rolled her eyes in reply, trying to show that the conversation wasn't getting to her, trying to make Lanie believe that she wasn't attracted to the 'ruggedly handsome' writer.
Lanie sighed, changing tactics.
"Does he say sweet things to you?" She questioned, trying to keep her voice from sounding smug.
Kate's mind couldn't help but answer the question.
"You have beautiful eyes."
"You don't let go. You don't back down. It's what makes you extraordinary."
"I'll do anything you need me to do. Even if that's nothing."
She managed to squash the small smile that was building up.
"Does he make you laugh?" Lanie pushed.
Memories flowed through Kate's head; memories of them laughing together, and memories of those times when she stifled a laugh to seem more mature.
Again, she stopped the smiling from taking over her face.
"Now, think about him. How do you feel?"
Rick's face, his handsome gorgeous face, filled her vision. He was smiling- not that terrible, smug, facetious smirk, but that lopsided grin he got when he was sincere, when he wasn't faking for the media or fans.
"You're smiling." Lanie told her with an 'I told you so' attitude.
"Damn." Kate cursed. "I like him."
"Yes. Yes, you do." The all knowing Lanie confirmed, a proud smiling bracing her features at her friend's revelation.
"Crap." Kate groan once again.
