Dedicated to hovet-otach. She wanted this as an episode just for one of the lines, so I made a fic for her.

Richard Castle followed his muse and friend, Det. Kate Beckett into the dimly lit bowling-alley. Blue, red and green strobe lights danced across the room in tune with the loud pop music. Kate made her way to the counter where Detectives Ryan and Esposito were standing.

"What's with the lights and music?!" She yelled, trying to be heard.

"On when we got here!" Esposito shouted back.

"Working on getting them fixed now!" Ryan finished. As if on cue, the bright overhead lights flicked on and the music was shut off.

"Where's the body?" Kate drawled.

"Down the alley." Esposito nodded his head in that direction.

"Whoa! Guess someone forgot the tell him the lanes are slippery." Castle exclaimed with a boyish grin. Kate glared, desperately trying not to smile at his joke.

The body of a man laid face-down in the alley, blood and other tissue gunk covering the back of his head. Lanie, Kate's friend and ME, squatted next to the body, taking a sample of something.

"Got a cause of death?" Kate asked as a hello.

"Not clear yet, but it looks like the COD was a strike to the back of the head."

Castle chucked. "No pin intended."

All eyes turned to stare blankly at Castle.

"Come on, it was a little funny." Everyone sighed and turned away.
