Living Dangerously.

Zipping down the road on a motorbike,

with the wind in his hair, just how he likes.

He's cruising through the streets of Downtown,

He feels like a king; his bike helmet, a crown.

He takes the next corner, past the fences of the jail,

but all of a sudden, he feels a car on his tail.

Lowering his glance to his right wing mirror,

he sees a car alright, but what's he being tailed for?

Just to make sure that what he sees is true,

he takes a sudden turn - and the car does too.

His heart pounding with fright, he speeds up to forty,

he no longer feels quite so cocky and haughty.

As the Sentinel behind him speeds up as well,

He starts to feel like he's just dropped into Hell.

The bright morning sun becomes a ball of fire,

it's only forty degrees but the temperature feels higher.

He puts the pedal to the metal and zooms off at eighty,

slowing only to turn into Little Haiti.

The black car tailing skids around after him,

speeding up again is now his only whim.

Finally deciding to get some help,

he starts to shout, and scream, and holler, and yelp.

All the while racing along the roads,

but the Sentinel catching up soon forebodes.

Suddenly a passing cop sees the problem,

runs out into the road with a truncheon.

Not slowing down quick enough, the bike has to swerve,

but the car ploughs the cop down and follows the bike round a curve.

He can now see that he's just got to stop,

and hide somewhere, and then call the cops.

So he hits on the brakes, the bike stops, he dismounts,

the Sentinel keeps going, at seventy, he counts.

He runs to some bushes, leans up against a tree,

prays to God that his attacker doesn't see.

But all of sudden, a woman bursts through the bushes,

her face all sweaty and red with blushes.

"What's the problem?" she cries as he cowers on the ground,

"I was only having a look around."

"What do you mean?" he asks, getting back to his feet,

She says, "That's why I've been following you along these streets."

"What the Hell, are you crazy?" he shouts angrily,

"My God, I thought you were tailing me!"

"I just figured that you knew your way round this place,

"I didn't mean to scare you." she says, red faced.

"Why were you speeding after me?" he cries,

"I didn't want to lose sight of my guide," she replies.

She wrings her hands and then smiles awkwardly,

He just looks shocked and still angry.

He breathes, "Don't you know you mowed down a cop?"

She gasps, "I thought it was an animal - and I couldn't stop!"

"You're gonna be in big trouble," he tuts,

She screams, "Oh I can't believe it! Damn it, oh nuts!"

He smiles and says, "But it happens a lot round here,

no one has to know, they don't know the criminal's near."

"What are you saying?" she asks hopefully,

"Are you saying you're going to run away with me?"

He leads the lady back to his ride,

he gets on front, she sits down behind.

They exchange smiles, he straps on his helmet,

and then they drive off, into the sunset.
