A Really Good Team

A look at McGee and DiNozzo and how they make a good team. References season 7, ep. 17, "Double Identity" A LOT. So if you haven't seen that ep...you may be a little spoiled, you may not get it. An AwesomeKid solo project. Feel free to like it.

Tim McGee and Tony DiNozzo make a really good team. McGee doesnt like to admit it. In fact, there's a lot of things he doesn't like to admit...and they all seem to center around Tony. Tony is the smooth, the suave ("You should patent that.") and, he doesn't like to admit it, but the sexy of the operation. He puts things into action. ("Well, I don't think you CAN unlock the door.") He gets witnesses to talk. McGee is the smarts. He's the one who actually breaks into the car and hacks into the laptop. Together, they get the guy.

But McGee isn't the timid probie he was when he first started. He can match Tony occasionally, go toe to toe with him in wits and cute smiles. ("Wow, I'm glad that MIT education paid off for something, McGee." "It is pretty super, isn't it?") And he wins....a little.

Tony DiNozzo has more power over Tim McGee than he should. And McGee doesn't like to admit it. McGee shows off for him. ("Built an application for my phone.") He does things for him. He falls into the trap that Tony sets for him. ("How do I get into his files?" "Tony, you can't." "You know what, you're right. You could get in here in ten seconds, and then we'd be outta here." Tim would like to say he didn't hack into the laptop, really.)

But McGee has a bit of power too. McGee convinces Tony not to be a moron, sometimes. ("Perfect, I'll get the slim jim." "No, hey, hey, we don't have a warrant, I have a record, and besides, a slim jim...it's very old school.")

They both know it's probably not healthy. It's probably a little messed up in a lot of ways. ("Are you going to tell me what's going on McGee, or is this a guy thing?")

But it really doesn't matter, because at the end of the day, Tim is getting kissed in the elevator like they'll never kiss again as Tony mumbles something about "helping and good work and I should really thank you the fun way" against his neck and 'being messed up isn't so bad' is the last thought Tim has before he decides that thinking is dumb and making out is awesome and, maybe he'll admit it, Tony is one of the best messed up things to happen to him.
