It wasn't until I achieved my final evolution when I knew that what I felt was a romantic interest. When you are travelling with a human trainer your love interests become extremely limited. Most Pokemon we meet, we only meet once. So there were only very close friends of our trainer's Pokemon, and our trainer's team. And if I am not mistaken, that is only 11 different people you are allowed to fall in love with. Oh, how I was so lucky to have found Luke.
Me, and the four others on the team first met Luke when we exited the tower of mastery. Luke told me that he has been training with Korrina his whole life so far, but that meant spending that time mostly isolated to Shalour city. He wanted to explore the Kalos region, and that he didn't"t want to have one tile on land not stepped on by his paw. He sounded very courageous, but he was in fact kinda shy, strong no doubt, but shy. Me and our trainer are the only ones he talks to. Our trainer because, well... he's our trainer, and me... because I welcomed him. All the others weren't dissapointed, but there weren't impressed either now that we had a Pokemon that fit in the UBERS tier as they call it, but I felt positive that a stronger opponent came to the team. I was still a Quilladin at the time, and with the help of the exp share and his training, he was the one to help me evolve. I might be bragging about this, but I got bigger, stronger, and handsomer. Well, I thought I looked better in this stage than my previous.
Luke talked to me because I was the least threatening looking one in the team, but since I have evolved, I am probably the most feirce looking one in the group, apart from Burn the Charizard. Luke began to look scared of me. If I wanted to tell him how I felt, I would have to come off in a way that makes him feel like he's in no harm. So, I went up to him while he was washing his face in the lake, and when I got his attention, I knelt down and bowed to him. I closed my eyes, and said these words:
"Luke, I need to tell you something important. Ever since you joined the team from the top of the tower of mastery, it felt like a part of me had awoken. I never felt more happier and alive when I was with you. I always had a tingling that went all through my body when you spoke with your sweet, soft voice. For weeks I've been longing to tell you that I'm in love with you." "Wh-what? But, but I thought that guys only liked girls." He whispered. "Well, not all guys like girls. The term for someone like me, is that I'm gay." "So, it's okay for guys to be...together?" "Yes, of course!" I says standing up thinking he loved me back.
"I...I don't know that I'm...like you, I don't think I'm gay."
"...right, I'm sorry to have bothered you then." "B-but, I-if it made you...happy, I guess we could...k-kiss." Luke said closing his eyes and stepping towards me. I didn't think that this could happen. For a straight guy to offe to kiss me, and I was going to actually kiss him then.
"Was" going to kiss him.
The look on his face was unsettling. His eyes were turned downwards, his ears were drooping, and he was taking very quick and short breaths like he was in some form of panic. I knew then that if our lips connected, he would hate it. I never want to see his beautiful face look sad. I place my hand on his cheek and say quietly and calmly: "Hey, you don't have to give me anything, okay buddy?" "Okay...but won't you be sad that I don't like you?" "I'd rather live a life of no love that a life of false love."
