Hyperthermia, heat stroke…

Beneath the winter coat I can feel the heat building, every pore beginning to sweat, every skin cell starting to drown in the salty liquid. I would have never thought a situation this simple, this silly could make me this nervous.

A hand moves from my back to my shoulder, and I can feel a finger snaking towards my neck, gently rubbing circles into my hair line. A shiver shoots down my back and it takes everything in me not to shudder. Her head slowly tilts to the left, her ear resting on my right shoulder, chocolate eyes tempting my own gaze and eventually winning. Rose colored cheeks rise as she smiles, pulling herself closer to my body.

Dehydration, hyperpyrexia…

The heat that radiates off her body soaks through each layer of her clothing; undershirt, shirt, jacket, through my coat, button up and shirt and combines with the already warm temperature surrounding my skin and brings me one step closer to ecstasy. 6 layers separating our skin. A bulge forms in my throat and I try desperately to swallow it down. She shifts her head again, bringing it within inches of my neck. With each breathe that released on my skin my hair stands up on end, which I'm sure she can sense. Her finger stops playing with my hair, her head shifts away and lifts off my body.

The brilliant smile that lit her face fades, and a look of concern masks her features, "You alright?" She lowered her hands to my shoulder blades, tracing a line down my spine before separating her body from mine. A wave of cold air blasts through my cloths and sucks my breathe from my lungs.

Frost bite, hypothermia…

The bitter cold protruded the down jacket, both of my shirts and stung my skin, "Yeah," my voice cracks, and a slight blush rises to my face, "yeah, I'm fine." She giggles and brings me close again, my hands resting softly on her back. I hear a sigh, and feel her let go of me once again.

"I've gotta go." With downcast eyes she turns away from me and take a step forward, pausing in hopes I'll call her name and ask her to stay. She knows I'm too shy to do that, she knows it won't happen, and she walks away.

What she doesn't know, is that without her, without her I'm cold and lonely, "Yumi!" I trot slowly to her side, smile at her shocked expression and wrap my arm around her waist, "I missed you." Without warning, she threw her arms around my neck.

Her dark raven hair cushioned her face as she snuggled into the crock of my neck, "Oh Ulrich, you're so sweet." I lean into her embrace and smell the scent of her shampoo, "Maybe I can convince my parents to let you stay for dinner," I give her a peck on the nose and chuckle.

"I'd like that." Our bodies again separate and her arm crosses mine, holding my waist the same as I hold hers.

Still looking ahead she murmured to me, "Can we make this a habit?"

I moved my fingers, tickling her side and making her squeal. Without warning, She collapsed on the ground, bringing me down with her. We landed in a fit of laughter, side by side, my hand holding hers. I leaned over to her ear and whispered, "Maybe." She knows I'm too shy to say yes, but she knows maybe is a promise.

Very short, short story. Would you like to review? I'd like you to. Thanks so much for reading!
