Author's Note: This was completely and utterly forced. Just a short excerpt, which was supposed to be romantic and oneshot, but now it's just weird… I just couldn't see Luna and Neville being flirtatious, and this will be edited soon. Just wanted some ideas maybe? I really wanted it to be cute, because they're both a little "out there".

Neville sat in a squashy couch in the Hogwarts Library. He was reading a book about Gillyweed and other Underwater Plants with Magical Properties. He was also trying to hide from Draco Malfoy and his cronies. Which seemed to want to hunt him down around the last week before Christmas break. Lucky him. Neville looked up fearfully, as a shadow covered his light. It turned out to be Loony--Luna Lovegood.
"Hullo Luna."
"Hello Neville! Merry Christmas. Early Christmas. Are you going home?" Luna greeted him happily.
"Huh? Oh yes, I am. Gran wants me home for Christmas Holidays, and honestly, I don't mind too much."
"Why is that?" Luna looked probingly at him from behind her Spectrespecs.
"Oh, Malfoy wants to hurt me. Rather much, from what I can see.."
"That's terrible!"
"What brings you to the library?"
"Oh, well, I thought I'd go and check to see if the Library had any copies of the Quibbler, because father wants to donate some to the Library. Also, I was going to read to pass the time before my belongings are returned."
Neville felt a twinge of sadness at the mention of missing belongings. She must've been bullied as well. Surprisingly, Luna put at hand on his shoulder. It didn't feel too touchy-feely. Just…nice. And reassuring.
"I forgot, Merry Christmas Neville! Wait, I just said that, didn't I?" Luna smiled dreamily. "Anyways, I forgot to get you a Christmas gift, but here…Let me just see…" Luna rummaged through her bag. She pulled out some dust bunnies, which seemed oddly animated, and sighed. "Oh well, I heard you liked herbology, but I seem to have misplaced my Gurdyroot. Oh, wait, I gave it to Ronald Weasley to hold...never gave it back, he didn't, strange person he is. Sometimes quite rude…" Luna rambled on. Neville listened without really listening, actually engrossed in the book again.
"Well, I'll come back from vacation with something for you…I promise!" Luna closed her bag and moved walked, more like floated, toward the magazine section.
"I'll…get you…some gillyweed too!" Neville called out nervously.
Luna giggled out of sight.
