I will always remember that night for as long as I live. My life hasn't been easy, I have experienced many unforgettable things that no seventeen year old should ever suffer. However this night was the worst of them all…
"Dinner" My mother yelled from downstairs.
I took a deep breath and began to descend the stairs. I had planned this night weeks ago but nothing could prepare me for how I felt as I took one step closer to the inevitable.
My parents were not safe. Death had been edging its way towards them for year. I had to protect them.
I was preparing for a mission, a dangerous mission; a life changing mission. A mission for the greater good.
I reached the living room. I slowly grasped the handle and turned. There they were sitting in front of the fire place. Family photos lined up on the mantelpiece. They had their backs to me. Now was my chance. The cold harshness of reality hit me as I realised what I was about to do. Then I did it!
I watched as I disappeared from my parents memories. One enormous teardrop rolled down my face as I realised my parents no longer had a daughter.
I will always remember that night. The night we parted. The night our lives changed forever. The night I muttered:
"Obliviate"
