A/N – It's sad to think how it's all coming to an end. I'm pretty sure is going to take this one down too (not really following the rules here...) so I'm going to post this on You Are The Music In Me, too, just to be sure. Link will be in my profile.
Summary – Three years. Three movies. Three years of memories.
Disclaimer – I don't own anything.
Our Dance Won't Stop
''And cut,'' came the faint whisper through the loud-speaker.
Nobody moved for a while. A few put their heads down, some had tears running down their faces. People weren't worrying about their make up anymore.
They were all done.
No more shooting till three am., no more discussions with the director, no more learning dance steps eight hours straight...
They were done.
Looking at the people around the room Zac suddenly felt a wave of emotions running through him.
He didn't know how it was possible but all of them, as in the main cast, background dancers, the crew..., they were all sitting at the floor of their rehearsal room. The room was dark, none of the lights were on.
The only ones to light up the room were the tens of candles that had been given to random people.
Looking besides himself he found that Vanessa wasn't exactly no better than him. Her face had tear stains all over it and her make up was a little messed up. But she looked very beautiful in the candle light. Everyone did.
Pulling her closer to his side he gave her a reassuring squeeze, silently telling her that it was okay.
The purpose of the night was to play all the songs from the three movies and for people to sing along. Many of them couldn't though, like Ashley who was almost sobbing in her boyfriend's arms.
Each of the songs brought back different memories. Memories of messed up takes, standing outside in the cold breeze of a night, playing basketball between takes, having fun with friends...
People sang along with the music and it felt right.
Everyday of our lives
Wanna find you there, wanna hold on tight
Gonna run while we're young
And keep the faith
The morning after was a sad one. There were people hugging each other everywhere, they had literally taken a whole field, each of them clinging to each other. They were crying, telling each other good luck and so on.
The sun was shining down on them, making them all feel warm and happy. But there was a weird emptyness there too.
They saw each other for the last time together.
It had taken three years. Three years that felt like one, three years that they wanted to continue forever.
Zac, Vanessa, Ashley and Jared were all walking towards their waiting plane, each of them quiet, not really finding the right words.
Quickly they found their seats and sat down. People still kept coming in so Zac had a moment to take a deep breath and calm down. After a moment the plane was ready to go and steadily it started to move.
He took the hand of the one next to him in his own, gave her a sad smile and pulled her close.
He looked longingly out of the window and quietly waved Utah goodbye.
Oh, no mountains too high enough, oceans too wide
'Cause together or not, our dance won't stop
Let it rain, let it pour
What we have is worth fighting for
You know I believe, that we were meant to be
