This wasn't the first or last time that Hermione was happy she decided to come here. When Charlie had first invited her along with him to Romania, she had admittedly been a bit hesitant. Romania was very far away from her comfort zone in England, but Charlie had painted his life in such wonderful colours and descriptions, that she found it hard to say no.
She had joined him and his team as a healer, travelling with them to different reserves around the world. She enjoyed her new life and the freedom that came with it. She became a whole new person and got a chance to know the wonderful Charles Weasley. So just after a couple months, she had fallen for the wild and carefree dragon tamer. He was so strong, so rugged but had just a soft sensitive side that could make her melt at any moment. He could regale her with the grittiest stories of his times on the Reserve but then sing her sweet lullabies from his youth as they lay in bed together at night.
It was a night like any other, as they lay basking in the afterglow of their love-making. He twisted a lock of her hair in front of both of their faces, her head against his bare chest, the sheets pooled around their waists. He had been silent for awhile, staring off in the distance and Hermione wondered what he could be thinking about.
"Knut for your thoughts?" she whispered against his skin.
He smiled down at her sweetly before pulling her in close and placing a kiss on her forehead. She sighed contentedly against him. Charlie was always so warm, no matter the time of day and it was definitely welcome at two in the morning while naked.
She looked up into his face and he said, "I'm so happy you decided to come with me on my travels."
"I'm happy I did too, for I would have never gotten to know you," Hermione said softly before taking his lips to hers.
When they separated, Charlie whispered, "And I never would have gotten to know you. I love you, Hermione."
"I love you, Charlie," she replied, snuggling into his chest once more.
Her eyelids were falling shut and soft deep voice like velvet floated through her ears, "There's a tree by the river...", taking her to dreamland.
