Chapter 1

[Female Doctor walks in the room which is at a doctor's office in a room]

Doctor: I have the results from the test back, and I have great news!

Karen: What is it?

Doctor: You're pregnant, and it's going to be a girl!

Karen: Wow! This is really sudden. Keith and I just got married and we were hoping for kids but we had no intentions of having one so soon, but I just hope Lucas will be able to adjust.

Doctor: So you're keeping the baby then?

Karen: Of course, how could we not?

Doctor: That's good. Would you like me to get Keith so you can tell him the good news?

Karen: Sure, that would be great.

[Doctor ushers in Keith and closes door]

Keith: So what did the doctor say?

Karen: We're pregnant!

Keith: Oh that's great!

[He holds her in his arms and rocks her back and forth]

Keith: So is it a boy or a girl?

Karen: Girl!

[They embrace in a passionate kiss]

Keith: I'm glad. Lucas will be so thrilled!

Karen: I hope he will.

Keith: I know he will. He knows you wanted another child it's just, well, sooner than we all thought but this little girl will have a nice warm home with a big brother to look after her.

Keith: Yes, she will.

[They smile lovingly back at eachother]
