Becoming lost in his only reason for living, his mortal love
Her angelic looks of long black hair and soft gray eyes
The way her smile could bring light into the darkest parts of his soul
The scent her body carried that his dog nose could smell
That made his human heart soar high in the air above
Yet her feisty attitude made her unique in her ways
Always brave, a lack of cowardice, standing up for what was right
Her spiritual powers and the sacred arrow of a priestess
Made her an enemy to truly be feared by the most evil and cruel
Maybe that's what drew him to her, dog demon to priestess
An emotionally distant half-demon to a reincarnated girl from the future
Over time all wounds were healed, true feelings revealed
A new bond had been formed from a shattered sacred jewel
Life is worth living now, thought the young man in his mind
I am a protector above all else and I will die before I fail in that duty
She is my love, my world, my heart, and the other half of my soul
What I've been waiting for, no, searching for this whole time
A single word echoed forth from his lips, barely able to be heard
The name of his soul mate, the woman that he loved named Kagome
Raising his head to look up at the cloudless sky, sun reflecting in his eyes
A true smile of happiness graced his face, unexplainable by rhyme
