A/N: Warning for guyxguy (SolxSin) Written for 31 Days.

Prompt: Voicing out the words he cannot say

Sin is a young man of many words. Ever since he was as tall as Sol's knees he was talkative; since that time (not long ago), he has trailed after Sol. The first time he met Sin was when Ky extended an invitation to discuss watching over what Sol called "the brat." Sin didn't say hi or any word to Sol when he caught sight of him. He just followed him silently, his eyes large and curious.

The boy temporarily stopped to allow Sol and his father to talk, patiently waiting by the door. When Sol left a slightly disgruntled Ky, Sin stood up and followed the brunette out.

Sol sighed and turned around. "Kid, why are you stalking me?"

"Because you're cool," Sin replied straight out.

"That's nice," Sol said uneasily. It was just as he had pressed to Ky-- he didn't have experience dealing with kids.

"Can you be my dad instead? Mine sucks."

Sol paused, staring blankly at the kid, then burst into gales of laughter.

"You're not bad." He smirked.

"So is that yes?" Sin bounced on his toes.

"No," Sol said flatly, then passed the palace gates. He would find himself passing them again soon, this time with Sin in tow, grinning at Sol's backside.

"You're going to teach me how to fight too, right? I'm so stoked!"

The boy seemed to talk a mile a minute, without letting Sol reply. Somehow though, Sol grew to either ignore it or just listen vaguely. Sin caught on but still talked in hopes that Sol would answer. And then, Sol didn't notice when, but there came a point that if something happened to Sin or when the time came and he had to return to Illuria, Sol wouldn't know what to do with the silence. What was once annoying was peaceful. He had never realized that fighting alone was so lonely.

"I know I've already said this, but I wish you were my father." Sin said, facing the blaze of the campfire. He didn't expect an answer, or one that he wished to hear.

"I'm glad I'm not." Sol grunted and added a log to the fire.

"It's because I'm troublesome, right?" Sin sighed and added a log also, with force.

The older man's large hand grabbed Sin by the shoulder and pulled him to his lips. Sin's eyes widened, though not in alarm. When the kiss was broken, the blonde looked away, then looked back, grinning goofily. "So that's why. I guess I can live with that."
