Summary: A/Uish. Callie and Arizona Thanksgiving after the whole Africa thing.
Dinner with their friends had been amazing. The food had been delicious and everyone ate until they couldn't fit anything else. Arizona sat on the couch next to Callie with a glass of wine in hand.
"So, what are you thankful for, Calliope?" Arizona set her glass on the coffee table and looked into Callie's eyes.
"You, I am thankful for you, Arizona Robbins. You make me feel like no one else ever has. You make me feel loved and wanted and beautiful. You put me back together when I thought no one else could. And you hurt me. You left. Like Erica and like George. But you, you came back. And you fought for me, for us. You love unconditionally and care like crazy. You are awesome. And I love you. So much. Words cannot describe the love that is in my heart for you." Callie placed her hand on Arizona's cheek, wiping the lone tear that slid down her face.
"Calliope," Arizona whispered, leaning in and kissing her softly. "I-I'm thankful for you too. And I love you. You are my everything. You, you're the reason my heart beats. And I was so lost before I found you. And I'm not the only one who fought for us. You did too. You let me back in and gave me a second chance and I am forever thankful for that. Because if you didn't, I just can't think about us not being together. We're meant to be, made for each other. "
Callie slowly leaned in, meeting Arizona halfway for a slow kiss. There was nothing rushed or sexual or lustful about this kiss. It was filled with love. It was a slow, tender, intimate kiss. Arizona cupped Callie's cheek and pulled her closer. As they pulled apart in need of oxygen they rest their foreheads against each other. Callie wrapped her arms around Arizona's waist, carefully pulling her into her lap and holding her in a loving embrace. Arizona snuggled closer Callie, inhaling her sweet scent. Callie gently kissed Arizona's blonde locks. They lay there for what felt like an eternity until Arizona spoke.
"Calliope?"
"Yes?"
"I love you," Arizona looked up at Callie.
"I love you too," She whispered back kissing Arizona on the nose. Callie and Arizona sat up and slowly changed into pajamas the climbed into bed. Callie wrapped her arms around Arizona's waist and pulled her close as she kissed the small space between her neck and shoulder. They drifted off into a much needed sleep after their busy day.
