AN: This is actually a very short story I wrote fairly recently, though I am still looking through my files for older ones. If you find any spelling/grammar issues just mention it in the comments and I will try my best to fix it. Enjoy!

Leonardo loved his brothers. Even when they annoyed him, made fun of him, or fought with him he couldn't just stop loving them. They would always come first to him, even before himself. It was not an opinion. It was a conviction. That was just the way it was to him.
He was also a worrywart. He worried about his brothers . A lot. Every time they went topside or even left the lair he was overcome with the need to protect. His. Brothers. So, Leonardo trained. He trained and trained everyday, sometimes all night. Always fighting to be a little stronger, a little faster, a little better. Sometimes he couldn't eat or sleep without training. He had to improve. He had to feel like he was doing something. He just wanted his brothers to be safe.
He meditated, he sparred, and he practiced his katas. He had promised himself long ago he would not let his brothers get hurt or worse just because he wasn't good enough. But, often that left him with little time to actually spend with his brothers. The guilt that resulted ate at him constantly.
He pushed it aside though. All the guilt and sadness was set aside, because he would do anything for his brothers, even if it hurt him sometimes. Even if he got lonely. Even if he got tired of being called perfect and fearless. He wasn't fearless or perfect. If anything it was the exact opposite.
Sometimes he fell. He cried and screamed and got angry just like everyone else. Sometimes he didn't want to get up in the morning. He just wanted to lie down and never get up again.
And sometimes he feared. He feared failing his brothers. He feared disappointing his Sensei. He felt like he wasn't enough. Sometimes he couldn't take it and he just... broke.
But then he'd remember his brothers. And he'd pick himself up and try harder. Again and again and again. He was not allowed to fail. His clan, his brothers , were counting on him to lead. He had to be strong for them. He wouldn't, couldn't fail them. He'd find a way to keep them safe. That was a promise.
And Hamato Leonardo always kept his promises.
