Untitled Piece of Work
CHAPTER 1
"What's the point of love? If there's no one to catch you, you fall. And you fall hard." Tara sighed and giggled as she turned to her best friend. He shook his head at her and rolled his eyes.
"You know, all this talk about love is weird. You were never one to say any of this stuff." He said in a questioning tone. Tara sighed and rolled her eyes, she couldn't believe how dense her so called best friend was.
"Well. I am a girl, so maybe I might like someone." She said carefully. He snorted.
"Well, if you like someone, then I'm in love!" Tara's face fell as she turned away from him. "Now that I think about it, I gotta tell you something important."
"Whatever you need, I'm always here."
"I got a girlfriend!" He grinned. Tara was shocked, how had Jay managed to slip that past her. From the day that they'd been born, they'd been best friends. Always telling each other their secrets and comforting each other when they got hurt.
"Wh-when did this happen?"
"Uh, heh-heh. Two months ago." Jay said hesitantly.
"You mean you've had a girlfriend for almost three months and you didn't say a word to me! I can't Believe YOU!" Tara shrieked. In all her seventeen years she had never been that mad. "So all those time you blew me off telling me that you were sick, they were just lies so you could spend the night with your girlfriend."
"Look 'm sorry but I didn't think that you would take it well. I mean, look at your reaction now."
"You complete arse!" when Tara was angry, her british side came out, "We've know each other for how many years now? And you think that a girl would come between us? Thanks for thinking so lowly of me Jay."
"Come on, Star. It's not like that, you're still my best friend." Jay apologized. Tara looked at him with anger in her brilliant green eyes.
"Well I thought you were mine." She flew out of his room and his house completely. At the door she almost collided into a petite blonde. Without saying anything to the girl, Tara ran across the lawn to her house. Jay came running out his in time to hear Tara's door slam shut.
"Oh shit. Hey Babe!" Jay gave the blonde girl a hug.
"Was that your friend?" she asked. Jay looked at Tara's house and replied,
"I hope she is."
