hi! In this drabble merlin and mordred get along :) I might add another mordred and merlin drabble if I think of one, by the way this isn't slashy or anything, just some friendly fun between boys :) I also apologize for any lack in capitals and punctuation, I'm doing this on a tablet. Enjoy :)
The council meeting felt like eternity, some knights had fell asleep, some where just slumped very undignified over the round table and some where just plain bored. Leon read yet another parchment about taxes.
Mordred sat at his seat on the round table, he sighed inwardly. He was a knight now! He should be rescuing fair maidens, slaying beasts and going on wild adventures. But instead here he sat.
A stray strand of string from his cape caught his eye, he argued with himself weather to pull it when...
"mordred"
His brow furrowed, someone said his name, he looked around the table,no one was looking at him.
"mordred" the voice said again. Oh, this voice was in his mind, he knew who this was now, finally some conversation!
" Merlin, you startled me" He turned his head slightly to see him, trying not to make it obvious.
Merlin was stood, leaning against a pillar,looking equally as bored as mordred, staring blankly at the round table.
" you look bored merlin, don't you like listening to Leon preach about taxes? " He saw merlin smile at this.
" I am bored! And no, as it happens I'm not much of a fan of taxes"
" me neither " after a slightly awkward pause, mordred added,
" shall we play eye spy? " He hoped he didn't sound to much like a child, but he was scared he would fall asleep at any moment.
" yeah, I used to love playing that as a kid, you first? "
Mordred eyed the room, trying to be discreet of cause.
" eye spy with my little eye, something beginning with p "
"people"
"nope"
"percival"
"nope"
" parchment"
" yeah parchment " "your turn"
He saw merlin looking around the room, not so discreetly, but people thought he was an idiot anyway, so people wouldn't be too surprised with him acting strangely. He went back to looking at the table.
" eye spy with my little eye, something beginning with C "
"Chandelier" mordred replied almost instantly.
" well you guessed that fast didn't you " they both chuckled slightly. No one noticed, to engrossed in sleep or daydreams.
" Merlin, Gwain's looking at me funny "
Merlin cocked his head to look at gwain, who seemed to be entranced with mordred.
" probably been on the drink " Merlin replied, half wishing for a drink himself.
" yeah wouldn't be the first time " "anyway, my turn, eye spy with my little eye, something beginning with S "
" sorcerers " Gwain replied to both, joining in their mind game.
Both merlin and mordred stared wide mouthed at gwain, who in tern gave a cocky grin.
"room for one more in this game of eye spy then?" gwain asked, still sporting a wide smile.
from that day on, most council meetings consisted of three sorcerers playing eye spy, sometimes singing a song or two, and merlin, gwain and mordred where never bored again.
