"Jeremy's 10th Birthday"
1981
...
As I inhaled a deep breath, I was immediately slapped in the face with the all to familiar the smell of grease and junk food. And god did I love it!
Not to mention how fast my heart was racing.
That was a day I'd never forget.
It was my first actual birthday party and I had just turned ten. My mom just had gotten married to the owner of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and I can't express how awesome it was to actually have a father who loved my mother and I...my real dad died. Oh, but that's a good thing though! He was a fat, stupid, deadbeat nobody.
Fredrick? He may have been fat, and still is to this day, but he's the nicest guy ever! Not to mention he works at the most amazing place in the entire world! Or so I thought...
I shook the nervous tensions from my hands as I saw most of my friends arriving at the restaurant.
Yeah, that's right! I had friends.
As I put on my best smile, I straightened my bowtie and opened the glass doors. My friends rushed in and I was immediately bombarded with hugs and high fives from the guys and kisses on the cheeks from the girls.
"Hey, Jeremy! Happy birthday, dude!"
My friends were rather nice...all I was wishing for more than anything was he wouldn't show up...
He being the most annoying kid in all of existence. No joke.
But, there was no sign of him. I grinned as the glass doors shut. I greeted my friends and found my step dad over by the animatronics. I smiled brightly and rushed over to him. "Hi!" I exclaimed as I hugged his legs.
He smiled just as wide. "Jere!" He chuckled and lifted me into the air. "How's your party going so far, huh?"
"I dunno. I haven't really mingled with anyone yet-" I looked around for the daytime security guard. "Hey Fred? Where's the purple guy?" I called him that for two reasons: He always wore purple and I never got the chance to figure out his real name.
Fred shrugged; setting me back on the ground. "Not sure, kid. Maybe he's just in the back."
I pursed my lips and nodded.
Little had I known what was going to happen.
My thoughts were interrupted by the front door bells ringing. My eyebrows furrowed. "I thought everyone was already here..." I muttered softly to myself. As I made my way through the crowd, my stomach churned.
My face fell into a sour expression.
Michael...
The most annoying eight year old in existence.
His eyes landed on me. "JEREMY!"
"Oh god."
I stood frozen to the ground. When his full weight toppled over me, he was a pretty husky kid, I nearly fell backwards onto the black and white tiles.
"Happy birthday, Jeremy! I missed you! I haven't seen you since this afternoon at school on the playground, well, that's a lie, I saw you with your friends at lunch, and then in the library, but then I saw you at recess, and you were walking so fast that I could barley catch up to you but now I'm here-"
"How did you get here?" I ask while prying jabber jaws off of my good clothes.
His stupid smile grew bigger than physically possible. "Your mom invited me, silly!" He was two years younger than me and I swear he never stopped finding ways to stalk me.
I heaved an annoyed sigh while rubbing my temples.
As if on cue, my mom approached me and the monster. "Oh, hello, Mike! How are you?" She asked in a sickening sweet tone. I nearly gagged at her voice.
As her and Mike engaged in some kind of weird conversation, I eventually found my way out of talking to the brat and back over to my friends.
Five of them weren't in sight. "Maybe their just in the bathroom?" I suggested to myself.
How wrong was I?
...
The party was about two hours in, and there still was no sign of my missing friends. "They can't possibly still be in the bathroom, Jeremy!" One friend exclaimed. I sighed. "I'm sure they're fine." I waved my hand dismissively.
The animatronics on stage, Bonnie, Freddy, and Chica, would wander around every once in a while. Ask the kids if they were hungry. Even if the kid said no they'd forcefully bring them food.
When I had mentioned the fact that my friends were 'missing' to Fred, he nodded and went to go search for them. One of the kids was Mike's older brother.
I heard Fred scream.
I had followed the sound of his heavy footsteps down a narrow hallway where he was, and Mike managed to follow me. What we saw next would scar both Mike and I for the rest of our lives.
"J-Jeremy?"
When I noticed Mike next to me, tears formed at the brimstone of my eyes. The kids were stuffed inside of the spare suits...
I enveloped Mike in a giant hug in an attempt to shield his eyes from the terrifying scene that lied before us. Fred instantly lunged at the Purple Man.
No more than ten minutes later, police sirens wailed loudly outside as the children's parents crowded outside. The parents who's children were still alive gripped their children tightly while the others screamed and shouted, tears tearing through their eyes.
Mike had lost his brother.
I shouldn't have been so hard on him for most of his life. Yet, for over ten years I still treated him like shit.
That's where our story begins...
