Summary: When Dipper overhears Pacifica's date being disrespectful he can't help but jump in and save the day. Of course Pacifica can't help but wonder, could Dipper be her knight in shinning armor? Takes place during the teenage years.

Disclaimer: If you think I own Gravity Falls or its characters… You're gonna have a bad time.

Dipper must've adjusted his tie for the twelfth time that hour as he began to question why he had decided to come in the first place. He didn't have a date; instead he opted to go with a group of friends, and dancing in a room with sweaty teenagers didn't really seem like a good way to spend a Friday night. Although he had long since discovered the author of the Journals and saved the town (how many times was it?) he still found that there was plenty of secrets left in Gravity Falls to go around.

After their parents decided to move the family to Oregon, Dipper and Mabel couldn't complain. After all Dipper loved the mystery and Mabel, well she wasn't complaining about the eccentric 'hotties' that the town seemed to attract.

Sigh. He looked around the gym of Gravity Falls High and thought about the hard work Mabel, as head of the decorative committee, must've put in to make this place look decent. At the moment, he was sure she was having the time with her latest beau.

"Hey Dipper" he looked to find his friend Josh handing him a cup of punch, probably spiked, "What's wrong dude?"

"Heh. Nothing, I was just think all this poster paints getting to me, I might take a step outside. " Dipper scratched the back of his head, despite crossing the trenches of puberty, he still kept his boyish manners.

"Alright bro, just don't forget about the after party, alright. I hear Cindy's got a thing for you." He said with a wink, and walked off. Dipper wasn't too excited about the fact that a girl might have a crush on him, he wasn't going to get wound up about hooking up with a girl he knew almost nothing about. Besides, he didn't want to seem cocky, but there were plenty of girls who felt the same as Cindy- Dipper had filled out quite a bit after his first summer in Gravity Falls.

With all the danger lurking around every corner, sometimes literary EVERY corner, Dipper made the decision to get physically fit, he often spent his time at the local boxing ring because as he put it: 'You never really know when you need to punch a gnome in the face, again.'

Puberty also helped a lot, Dipper wasn't the tallest guy in school, but now there definitely was no disputing between Dipper and Mabel over who was taller. Pair that with his broad shoulders and strong chin, and Dipper could see why girls like Cindy blushed when he passed them in the hallway.

It was refreshing to push past the crowded gymnasium and into the cool evening air. As he walked into the night air, the music faded, he could hear a couple arguing in the short distance.

"I said to let go of me, you ASS!" Dipper looked to see Pacifica to fighting with some guy, probably her date. Dipper instantly felt an anger build inside of him as he watched her struggle with the blond young not-so-gentlemen. Dipper didn't know the guy's name, but he could tell all he needed to know by the way he was tugging harshly on Pacifica's arm.

"Come one babe, it's not like you don't want it." Dipper picked up his pace, and clenched his fists. "Besides think of how jealous all the other girls will be when they hear you went home with me." The guy sneered, but Pacifica continued to struggle. "Stop being such a little bi-" That's it, the final straw. Dipper was seething.

"Hey, asshole!" Dipper called out, Pacifica's date turned, loosening his grip. "She said to let go." Dipper shoved him, hard. The guy stumbled back, in shock, the look on his face made it clear that no one had every treated him so harshly. "What's wrong don't like being pushed around? But you can do it to a girl, can't you?" Dipper taunted.

Pacifica couldn't help but stare in shock. One minute she's having the fight of her life, and then she rescued by Dipper. She had never seen this side of him before, the boy she knew was fun loving and easy going, but the man she saw in front of her was obviously not messing around. She blushed. Pacifica had to admit to herself that this side of Dipper was… hot.

"Excuse me, do you know who you're talking to? When my dad hears about this he'll be having your family living out of the trash cans." Oh, so that was his type, a rich spoiled brat. Dipper wasn't impressed; instead he grabbed the guy by his shirt and slammed him into the wall behind them.

"Too bad Daddy and his money isn't here." Dipper's grip tightened and his eyes were fixed on the growing fear in the boy's eyes.

"Uhhh…" Was all the poor guy could sputter out.

Pacifica grinned, what girl wouldn't? She would like to admit that she was a strong independent person, but right at this moment it felt really good to be to be rescued, to be protected like some rare treasure. It was then that she realized the difference between Dipper and her date Brad, Dipper was taking charge, getting his hands dirty, while Brad on the other hand… Well it looks like Brad has never had any conflict that his dad wouldn't buy his way out of.

"Didn't any of your butlers teach you how to treat a lady?" Dipper asked, but it looked like Brad was going to pass out and he nodded weakly.

Pacifica smiled to herself, 'Okay this side of Dipper is really hot' She thought.

"Well then, I'm sure you know to never speak to a lady like that, especially not Pacifica. So here's what's going to happen, you need to apologize. Now." Dipper couldn't let this guy pee his pants, so he let him down. Brad turned hesitantly towards Pacifica.

After he spent a moment adjusting himself, Brad finally spoke up.

"Pacifica, I deeply regret my actions here tonight, and hope we can look past this." Brad held out his hand, offering a weak handshake, but Dipper stopped him.

"I think you've done enough touching here tonight. Stay away from Pacifica. Don't touch her. Don't look at her. Don't even think about her. Got it?"

"Yes." Brad's eyes started to look for his getaway.

"Good. Because if I hear that you did, we'll pick up where we left off. Now get lost" Dipper turned to Pacifica, and his demeanor completely changed. He smiled.

"Thank you Dipper," She met his eyes, a blush growing on her cheeks but Dipper only continued to smile. "I, well, I didn't know what I was going to do for a second."

"I'm sure you wouldn't taken care of him, if I didn't show up. Actually I'm sure I let him off a whole lot nicer than you would have. Heh." Dipper laughed softly as he scratched the back of his head. There it was, the Dipper Pines charm. "You look nice by the way."

The two teens took a good look at each other. Dipper was wearing a black suit, and dark blue tie. It was a classic look that suited him well. But that was old news, the young Northwest knew that Dipper could wear a suit well since they were twelve.

Pacifica on the other hand was wearing a black-laced dress; it hugged her chest tightly but flared out at the waste coming just above her knees. It was a simple, but elegant look Dipper couldn't stop himself from admiring. Over the past couple of years Pacifica had really toned down the whole 'social elitist' thing. Her outfits were still to be envied, of course, Pacifica was still a Northwest, and a Northwest is never out of style. Her blond hair was just past her shoulders, it shone in the night, framing her face. 'God, she's gorgeous.' Dipper thought, appreciating her features; the way her blue eyes shone, how her freckles on her cheeks could only be seen if you were so close…

"Uh, well…" Dipper broke the silence "Do you need a ride home, or can I walk you to your car."

"That would be great actually, Brad was my ride after all." She sounded grateful.

"So that's his name, typical." Dipper scoffed with a feigned tone. "I should've punched his face in."

"What you did was better." Pacifica cleared her throat, "We'll pick up where we left off. Now get lost." She did her best tough guy Dipper impersonation. He laughed. She smiled.

"Alright. Let's go." Dipper offered his arm, which she gladly accepted.

"Such a gentleman. Wait, I'm not stealing you from some other girl am I?" She asked, 'I mean it wouldn't be hard for Dipper to get a date,' she thought. Pacifica wasn't the only one who noted the changes he went through.

"No actually, I kinda just came with friends." Dipper did his best not to look at Pacifica; truth was he wasn't ready to tell her the reason why he didn't have a date. He thanked God that they had finished crossing the parking lot and arrived at his car.

"Welcome to the Mystery Machine," he chuckled weakly, "Just don't tell Scooby and the gang." He opened the door for Pacifica, who warmly received the gesture.

Once Dipper had climbed in and started the car, he smiled to himself. 'No date and you still managed to leave with the prettiest girl, Dipper you sly dog.'

They chatted for a bit about small things, how classes were going, how they were ready for the summer break, but Dipper had just one thing to ask Pacifica before they made it to the Northwest Manor.

"Hey, could I ask you a favor?" His eyes were on the road, but he couldn't stop his eyes from drifting to his passenger.

"Shoot." A favor, that was something that sparked Pacifica's interest. What could he possibly want from her?

"It's just… Just stay away from guys like Brad. A girl like you deserves better. You deserve a guy that will treat you like you're the best thing he's ever had. A gentleman." Dipper was blushing furiously. He might as well confess his undying love right then and there.

Pacifica thought for a moment, she was touched by Dipper's request. She wouldn't mind a gentleman like Dipper. 'Huh, like Dipper' she thought coyly. "A gentleman. Like one who opens the car door for a lady?"

"Of course." He responded happily, obliviously to the idea that was swirling in his pretty blond companion's mind.

"One who looks good in a suit?"

"It wouldn't hurt."

"Who knows how to treat a lady, especially me." She recited from his previous conversation with Brad.

"You're getting it." He kept his eyes on the road, still oblivious.

"Brunette, with bushy hair?" Pacifica's tone was getting flirtatious.

"Uh… yea." Dipper was getting nervous. 'Where is she going?'

"Does he like to solve mysteries?" She could hear Dipper gulp, she looked over to see him do his best to keep his eyes ahead. "Should he carry around creepy journals?" The car stopped they had arrived at her house. Pacifica knew it was now or never. "Maybe he could have a twin? And a strange birthmark?"

"Who told you about that?" Dipper put the car in park and turned to face Pacifica.

"Mabel, a lot goes on at a slumber party. You should know that." Okay, now she was flirting. Definitely flirting.

'Okay Pines, you got this, its just the most beautiful girl in Oregon in your car, batting her eyelashes. Moving closer.' Dipper thought.

"Can I kiss you?" He asked, the same passion from earlier was making its way back into his eyes. The question took Pacifica back for a second, how could Dipper not know the answer? She nodded, and closed her eyes.

Then he kissed her. He was timid at first; he didn't want to ruin the moment with a bad kiss. Pacifica responded to Dipper's lips, wrapping her arms around his neck, she turned her head and parted her lips. Dipper brushed his tongue against Pacifica's mouth; he let his hands wander over to her waist and deepened the kiss hungrily, but just as tenderly. Damn did it feel good.

When they pulled away for air, both teens were flushed. Pacifica was the first to speak. "Okay, there's no way you didn't have a date for the dance."

Now or never Dipper… "Well, actually I really wanted to ask this one girl out. But, I couldn't sum up the courage and she went with some other guy."

Pacifica's heart began to sink, why did she have to open her mouth. She cursed herself; she didn't want to imagine him with someone else, especially after that kiss. "Oh." It was a lame response she had to admit.

"But, its alright though," He continued on. "I still got to take her home and make out with her in my car." Dipper look deeply in her eyes, "It was the best night of my life."

The young Northwest regained her confidence back quickly. "You never know, there's always tomorrow night, around seven."

"I can't wait." He kissed her again just as hotly. Pacifica could really get used to a guy like Dipper. "I mean, really, I don't think, mmm, I could wait." He managed to get out between kisses.

"Pick me up at six then." Pacifica put his hand on his chest, probably a very tempting thing to do at the moment, but she pulled herself together. "Dipper if we keep this up, we'll end up in the back seat."

"Alright." He conceded, "My butlers did teach me how to treat a lady. Six then?"

"It's a date." Pacifica opened the door and stepped out. As Dipper pulled the car into drive he was beaming like an idiot. He looked into his rear view mirror to see Pacifica blow him a kiss. "Seriously, best night ever."

El Fin.
