"Bella, are you even listening to me …?" the truth was she wasn't. She started zoning out as soon as Angela mentioned Ben's name. This was nothing new, none of it ever was, always the same old drama. The same shit every week, only this time Angela was being even more persistent than normal.
It wasn't that Bella didn't want to hear about her issues, it's just that Bella didn't necessarily want to have to solve these issues. It was so funny just to think how all of this had started just one month ago.
"I got rejected, Goddamnit. That freaking douche nugget rejected me!" Bella breathed through clenched teeth. "Who? Tyler?" Angela stared wearily at her friend wondering what exactly was going through her mind.
"Yes.", she hissed with so much anger; Thrown into a word that one could not possibly imagine such hatred breeching from.
Tyler Fucking Crowley as Bella had begun to recently think of him was the socially- awkward, computer savvy, douche bag that Bella had befriended a year earlier. Tyler and Bella had been friends; exchanging text, talking, and hanging out. They were always bantering and always laughing, Bella liked him since she could remember.
"Well, what exactly happened? I thought everything was okay on that front." Angela wasn't wrong but she wasn't right either. Bella had found out that Tyler had feelings for her last year as well, but decided not to inform her. Bella hadn't been to happy about that, but felt as if that was a chance for her to express her still remaining feelings.
"It was okay, until he told me he didn't like me", Angela stared wearily at Bella almost as if she was expecting some explosion. "Why are boys so confusing? Why can't they just be straight forward, no games, no wasting time?" Angela still stared knowing that this was becoming one of Bella's famous rants on the mystery of boys, but this time she felt empathy instead of exasperation for her friend.
"You know I can't help thinking that my romantic life is pathetic; Every other girl has a boyfriend or at least a prospect and here I am crying over spilled milk" Bella turned away from her friend, all the fire released, and releases a breathe slowly. Angela, who just absorbed all that her friend stated, say "You're right, absolutely" Bella turns in shock, this was a rare moment.
"It's always like that all the time. There is no rulebook so we follow emotions and look how that has worked out" Bella turns to her friend lost, not quite sure where she is going with this, but on board nevertheless.
"We should start a church for the Romantically Pathetic and you should be pastor." Shocked silence, then a nod of affirmation; No further words needed.
Bella fades back in to the conversation, after digging through her memories she finally replies to Angela's question, "Yes, look Ben is an awesome person he is just a horrible prospect for a boyfriend." Angela passes her a look of indignation, "It's true Ange, but if you won't move completely at least force yourself to get back out there." Angela no longer looking affronted responds "But what if I don't want to?" Bella dusting off her pants as she stands, her body pointing towards home, places her hand on Angela's shoulder in comfort "Then for today, our sermon is finished. Amen"
