Note: This takes place a few months after the final episode of season 2.

Tom jolted and turned in his sleep violently. This had happened most nights when his brain was full of worries of the magic eating Nekross but they had not visited Earth in many months and lately his dreams had been peaceful or absolutely boring. Just last week he had dreamed of going to the supermarket to buy broth. 'I mean, who buys broth?!' he had exclaimed to his gran when he told her about his lack of dreams. But tonight was very different. Though it was winter with a blanket of snow sitting on the street outside he was sweating and trying to get out of the tangled sheets. His brain was showing him images of running though a forrest with a tall blonde girl so quickly that he couldn't make sense of any of them. His body twitched and jolted as though his mind was telling him to run just like in the memories in his brain. Suddenly Tom let out a yelp like a wounded animal that echoed round the silent house. A moment later he screamed and his dad came running in the room with a hockey stick held like a weapon. Tom awoke, dazed and startled.

"What on earth are you doing?" he asked with a quivering voice.

"um oh" Michael coughed, "no Nekross? Criminals? okay? good." he put the stick down with a thud.

"why did you come in here?" Tom asked with confusion whilst pealing the sheets off himself and pushing out the way.

"You screamed you head off Tom! How do you not know that?"

"what like a girl?" tom asked jokingly "maybe it was another dream about buying broth but maybe this time they'd run out and I had to buy soup."

Michael sighed and sat down of Tom's bed.

"No Tom. No jokes. It was a nightmare, I know what scream well enough by now."

"Well if you know if it's the scream of nightmares then why did you run in with a hockey stick ready to attack?" Tom asked with a smirk on his face. He had already forgotten the blurry images from his nightmare.

"You know...safety precautions" Said Michael with a slight look of embarrassment. "Look we'll talk about this in the morning. I'm sorry but i'm too tired to concentrate. Now try and get some sleep."

Tom frowned in confusion at his dad's sudden goodnight. Usually he'd question Tom until dawn, trying to find out everything. Shrugging it off he lay back down and tried to fall back alseep only to find that his mind was now troubled with Nekross memories and the nightmares that came from them.

"Have a good sleep?" Michael asked a sleepy a Tom.

"muhpm" was the only mumbled reply he got as Tom switched on the coffee machine and grabbed a piece of toast of his Grans plate.

"Remember anything from the nightmare Thomas?" Ursula asked as she swept into the kitchen and moved her plate before Tom could take more of her breakfast.

"Not really. Just a blurry forrest. Right, I'll see you after school." Tom said and walked out the front door with a wave and his cup of coffee.

"How long do you think i'll take him to realise he has a mug with him?" Michael grinned at Ursula.

"Humm. About now." She replied.

At that exact moment Tom walked though the door and handed his dad the now empty mug before turning round and leaving again, muttering something about Benny under his breath.
