My first intention was to write a drabble for all the days of Zankyou no Terror 1st Anniversary Week, but I had absolutely no time. However, I managed to write a little thing for day 8 - FAREWELL / REMEMBER US that happens to be a sequel for my other drabble "Silêncio". This one has already been posted on my tumblr, but I only had the time to put it here now.

I'm kind of proud for writing this down, and i hope you enjoy reading it.

And please, be aware that spoilers and mistakes are everywhere.

It was the cry of the cicadas. It was the noise of the traffic. It was the explosions in the sky. It was the laugh in the middle of nowhere.

But then it was the sound of helicopter blades and tragedy, and the music died.

The silence reigned once again.
Silence was all there was.

It was there when Twelve's body was shot down, his blood spreading on the ground. It was there when Nine screamed, then looked at the sky before falling down after his friend.

All the time she stood still, watching the unbelievable scene, silence was there, with arms wide open ready to welcome her into its embrace.
Smiling at her, calling her back.
Offering comfort, offering aid.
Offering a easy way out from the mess her life became after all the sounds and colors died right in front of her eyes.

It would be easy for her to fall back into her silent life, with her silent loneliness as her company. It would be easy for her to let herself float away. It would be easy for her not to fight, not to try to keep living.

It would be easy to embrace it.
Let the silence hold her and take her away.

Silence was all there was.
And this time the silence would certainly kill her.

"What are you listening to?", her voice was curious.
"Songs from the ice land." he smiled and offered one of his earbuds to her.

"Von means hope…", she explained to Shibazaki-san with a soft smile on her lips.

Silence wouldn't kill her.

It wouldn't because they had taught her how to live. How to try your best when you're going against the odds. How to overcome loss and trauma. How to have hope after you lost everything.

And as long as she had hope within her she would still have the courage to keep moving and face the world.
She would have the courage to live without the silence.

Silence wouldn't kill her.
It wouldn't because she wasn't going to embrace it.
She would create new music as she walked ahead, filling her life once again, like they did in the past.

She wouldn't have to apologize anymore.
