I sat down in one of the chairs in Morgead's penthouse and looked around.

The futon was still there and the bookcases. The hard wood floors. The quiet hissing noise from downstairs. The garden putside and the tall trees.

I breathed in the smell of wet paint and forest, taking in the smell in reassurance of what I was about to do.

I closed my eyes and waited for Morgead's door to open, for me to hear the familiar click and to see the surprise on Morgead's face when he see's me sitting in his chair.

I took deep breathes as the scene played out as it did in my head.

Morgead dropped his helmet on the ground by the door and came over to me, sitting on his couch.

"Jez-," he started.

I put up a hand and moved on to the couch with him, taking in his musky scent mixed with gasoline. "I have something to tell you."

I launched into my speech before he could say anything.

"No one has really shown me how to love. But I- I've done the best I could. I may be selfish sometimes, and I'm jeal- jealous, but I can't imagine how hard life would be without you."

I looked away from Morgead's big green eyes for a moment, returning to her speech. "I know how lucky I am to have you, and I don't tell you that enough-"

"Jez-," Morgead interupted.

"No interupting," I said. I continued. "And I don't tell you enough that all I have for you is love. And I've wasted away so many chances to say how much it means to know there is someone like you out there."

"Jez, don't blame-," Morgead tried.

"I'm not done yet," I replied. "And after all our ups and downs, there is always going to be that silver thread there, humming. You just have to trust that nobody can touch or take that away from us, not even Hunter or Lily."

Morgead smiled and pulled me closer so that head rested on Morgead's shoulder. He stretched out so that we were lying on the couch, side by side.

Morgead wiggled his toes and closed his eyes, placing his fingers on my eyelids, pulling them closed.

"I guess all I was trying to say was that I'm so freaking lucky to have you Morgead."
