CC's Dream
A/N: This is a little one shot based on Niles dream in the hospital. Hope you enjoy :)
CC was exhausted from all the stress of Niles heart attack. She almost felt responsible for is, and most of all, she missed having him around. But it wasn't a normal I-miss-joking-with-him kind of miss, it seemed like something more. With that, she fell asleep in her bed...
"Good morning, Babs," Niles said to her as she entered the Sheffield mansion. "How'd you're date go? Did he float away like the last one?"
"No, he didn't. But something about him wasn't right. He didn't make me feel special."
"Happens to you quite often, doesn't it?" He placed his hand on her shoulder, and CC felt that this joke was different, like he actually meant it. They turned to face each other.
"You know, all those dates and unappreciative men can all end," Niles said, almost in a loving tone.
CC stared into his beautiful blue eyes. "What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I appreciate you. I can make you feel special."
She did a double-take. "But, you're always so mean to me."
"I have one word for you, Babcock: foreplay."
They started kissing, and broke apart right when Max and Fran entered the room. Fran looked at them with her jaw to the floor, while Max just looked confused. "What the bloody hell are you doing?"
CC, wide-eyed, quickly raked for an excuse. "Maxwell! I was just...what are you doing here?"
"It's my house! Now please explain to me what's going on." Fran had her hands on her hip, Maxwell crossed his arms, and CC felt like she was caught by strict parents. Her brain was still trying to find an excuse for her actions, but honestly, she didn't want to just excuse herself and go on normally. She wanted...more of Niles.
A protective arm snaked around her waist. "Sir, I hope you don't mind, but I want to show how much I really care for CC. I decided to face the fact that I love her, instead of waiting around for five years and see what happens." He kissed her cheek and smiled.
Fran looked at them sweetly. "Aw, Mr. Sheffield, they're in love! This is so sweet!" She went up and warmly hugged them both, telling CC that Nanny Fine had accepted them.
"Well, maybe I do love him..."CC said, more to herself than anyone else.
As she woke, she found herself very dazed and confused. Her conscious just literally screamed that she loved Niles.
"I guess I'll go visit him in the hospital, just to check on him." And with that, she put on her shoes and walked out the door.
