A/N: This is my first fic for the Wicked Lovely sequel- "Ink Exchange". Implied Irial/Leslie. If you review, please do not leave spoilers, for I am not quite through with the book yet. Read and review? Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Ink Exchange or any of the characters.
Emotional
She was under his spell, but she didn't care. Unconditional love came with costs. Through Leslie's eyes, this was just one of the many- a loss of her emotions, but a sedative to relieve the pain. Before Irial had come into her life, her world had been nothing more than a black hole that sucked away at her happiness until she was consumed by the terrors of the mortal world, leaving her as nothing more than an empty shell. He was her unholy savior, her sanctuary.
His dark hair, his pallid skin, his lean form, his leather boots: it seemed that everything about him was alluring. Every movement he made was graceful, every emotion that crossed his face, beautiful. Irial came to her in the form of an angel fallen from grace- but that made him no less heroic in her eyes. His own dark eyes were inked onto her back, a constant reminder that he would always be there for her. He wouldn't leave her life unless she had commanded it.
Irial was one of the only good things in her life. Leslie used to think that Niall was a good thing as well, but his untimely allegiance with Keenan distracted her from his better qualities: his tell-tale scar, the feel of his arms around her, his promise to guard her and keep her safe, his emotional face.
She used to like being emotional, but now she knew that trite mortal feelings only wounded the heart when it was unnecessary. She didn't need the hassle, the torture, the pain- those things only caused her a pile of unneeded trouble. All she needed was Irial. His touch, his kiss, his soft embrace- he was sweeter than the most powerful of emotions any day.
