She sat in her home and twisted her hands in her lap, her heart was beating way too fast, but she didn't mind.

Because she was only focused on one thing.

The clock ticked over another minute.

9:13

She kept waiting; her visitor was finally going to be there in exactly seven minutes. She busied herself with meaningless tasks, cleaning and cooking her meal for tomorrow night.

The clock ticked again

9:16

It was close and her mind couldn't comprehend what was about to happen, she had been waiting for so long for this moment yet she couldn't believe it was going ahead.

Once more the silence was filled by the small click

9:18

She couldn't keep herself busy anymore, she sat on the floor and put one leg out in front of her and reached out to grab her extended foot, the pain ripped through her body. She hadn't done this in a long time.

9:20

This was it, the time they were supposed to arrive; she kept running through scenarios in her head, was she going to cry?

And if so, tears of joy or sadness. Well that depended on the answer she received.

Her breath hitched when there was a strong knock on the front door. The past few months had been leading up to this moment but right now; amidst the emotion she couldn't bring herself to answer the door.

'Hello' the voice called, muffled by the door.

Her hand was an inch from the door and she was shaking, her heat was going and her sweat covering her body.

She heard a sigh and slow footsteps

She pushed her emotions back and opened the door to see that very person she had wait to see for so many months.

They smiled weakly, but it faded quickly

'So?' she asked her voice barely above a whisper

The person had confusion in their eyes too, a clash of emotion.

'No'

The tears started.
